So you're a major company looking to tie up a shirt sponsorship deal. Why would you choose a team from the sixth largest city in England, who are arguably overshadowed by their near neighbours, who haven't won anything in close to two decades, who infrequently compete in European competition, who are only the seventh most televised club in the league and whos fans, demographically, are not that sought after by advertisers?
Sunderlands deal is worth 5x what our current deal is & their deal is with a company promoting African investment, which I doubt is aimed at the average mackem punter
We've underperformed in this area & our current deal with Chang looks poor compared to most of our peers. Did we work hard enough to promote the club to potential corporate sponsors? or did we just sit round the table with Chang & take a rather poor looking deal? Only those involved know the true answer to that.

Hilarious and 100% true at the same time.
