Darren Bent....

I cant fault that. Coming round to the bent way of thinking but I dont think he'd join us. Not yet anyway. Not unless we got some serious $$$

same here, people say Owens wages would be high, but with Bent being at tottenham his wages would be only a little lower...

the only way i'd want owen is if his contract included a clause that said if he got injured one more time, we could take him out back and shoot him

if money were no object, i wouldn't mind Bent, but i think he's overrated and absurdly overpriced.

Unless he is guaranteed first team football I can see him going. To whom?..dunno. But can't see him warming the spurs bench again this year.

Benched in favour of who??? Keane wants to go to the RS and Berbatov will end up at Man Ure.

Bent will be first choice striker

The thing is about this one........

Spurs sold Defoe to pompy in january.

Keane is suposedly off to the r/s for 18m

An Berbetov is off to Utd for 25m.

Could you realy see spurs selling all 4 strikers in the space of 6 months. I can't, their no way all these will go throught.

The Keane deal is ment to be nearly done, an SAF thinks he'll get his man to.

I'd love Bent here, hes a class act. But someone will miss out.

What do you think????

Does anyone else think we maybe should have moved for Defoe in Jan with the McFadden wedge. Seems like good value for Pompey now doesnt it. Diarra as well has been a snip.

Bent will be staying put

Spurs are on the brink of losing both Berbatov (Manshite U) and Keane (*@&!!xx), so selling Bent would be disaster. Can't see Spurs is letting him go.

Pity, cause I've always been a fan of him.

yupp, i said that all along :@ - why doesnt Moyes read these forums?!

Spurs message board

Hi, possible update on Darren Bent, I have a friend who frequents the Spurs boards and there is a lot of talk about Darren Bent to Everton 11m - bid accepted.

A supposedly reliable ITK was handed the titbit from a journo.

Other talk is that Vagner Love is going to Spurs, not Everton, but is reliant on Bent going to us.

Could be hot air, just like the rest of this summer, but thought I'd mention it.

Well if they're willing to sell him at a 5M loss, then no doubt we'd be all over it provided he's not asking for silly wages.

Then I could see the bid being hijacked by Newcastle.

My head hurts.

Is there any reliable outlets anymore. Every few minutes things are changing.

Chances are we won't even get another front man for a while.

Totally overrated and overpriced. A poor mans AJ
If we do sell AJ to Fulham I dont consider getting Bent a move forward I would want a class player(y)If Bent is that good why would Spurs let him go and if we bought him for the same cash as we get for AJ I dont think its a good deal.

I agree, at best Bent could be seen as a replacement for AJ, he definatley isn't an improvement on AJ.

They do have a class partnership in Berbatov and Keane. It would be hard for any striker to get past them two. They score about 50 between them every season and link very well.

Bent is definatly better than AJ. He's younger, he has more to his game and best of all he scores goals. I think he be a good signing, we wouldn't get much better for 10-12 million.

They have roughly the same goals per game ratio and both had injury hit seasons last yr
