Moyes' Derby Record

The idea that we had the same resources as Blackpool is just laughable, to be fair. His other points are all pretty reasonable like.

I agree with him on the whole.

Yeah fair enough, Blackpool were the first one that came to mind. Plenty of other rubbish teams have come up and stayed up playing mixed level football though. Blackpool had some decent players and went down through their style of play.
Lets try Spurs v Everton.. One spends hundreds of millions one spends fk all, we finish above them plenty.
Point is best form of defense is not always attack.

Yeah your last point is spot on there, no team should ever simply attack recklessly leaving themselves open at the back, you need to find a good balance between the two.
The main problem with Moyes is that rather than being too attacking he's been too defensive. That's fine when you have an average team like early in his time here and safety first is the best option, but way too often we've had a solid defense and a very good attacking line up yet the way that team played was too defensive therefor not making the best of the attacking qualitys of the team.

His record is quite frankly disgusting, against what has been in the last few years the worst Liverpool team and squad for generations. If he does his usual send the team out to get a 0-0 draw we'll get murdered by them. He needs to go out there on Sunday and a fire a message to the league that we're ready to challenge again. If we cannot beat them because our midfield isn't good enough due to 500k Darron Gibson being out, then our squad is nowhere near as good as any of us think it is. We best win, ffs.

Excellently put.

The thing with the midfield is he could combat Gibsons absence by dropping Felli back and playing Naismith/Kev or whoever behind the striker, but he wont, because its too much of a perfect opportunity to ensure two of his favs start, Osman and Neville together would not dominate a single midfield in the league, they are a bit better with Felli in front of them and Pienaar coming in to take possesion, but they are still utterly dreadful

Wouldn't shock me if we see Fellaini and neville behind naismith with osman right wing and kev on the left tbh.

I just caught the first pre-Derby interviews tonight on telly. Moyes looks and sounds defensive already over the match on Sunday.

Bet he talked about how much money he's had to spend compared to them. Even if we take the lead on Sunday, he will try and defend that lead for the rest of the game. Negative tit.

I couldn't believe he said we're in good form going into the Derby. We've made a very good start to the season but the past few matches would not have us near the top in any recent form list. Moyes should be telling them we've dropped off the gold standard lately and we need to get back on it, and there's no better place to start than the Merseyside Derby.

Hopefully he gets them revved up behind the scenes in the same way he did for Sunderland in the cup replay last season. A performance on Sunday that get's anywhere near those levels of adrenaline and controlled power will blow those Kopite tvvats off the park.

This is right, we are not the form team here, Liverpool are starting to win games and we have stopped, this derby will be far harder than last years efforts. We've got to properly raise our game to get something this time.
Defo the underdogs imo.
