Had roughly the same resources as Moyes when he took over I reckon except Blackpool were on a high.
I like you, mate but that's insane.
Had roughly the same resources as Moyes when he took over I reckon except Blackpool were on a high.
You posted something along the lines of "maybe he's never had the resources to be the type of manager who likes to put a lot of goals past sides.
I was replying that against 13 sides in this league he could have shown that side of himself if he was that type of manager. If it was a part of his character we'd have seen it.
Holloway took over the side favourites for the drop from the championship and took them to within a couple of points of a second season in the PL. His max wage for top players was 10k. p.w. Most of our squad willhave been on more than that 10yrs ago when Moyes took over.
There's no way you can reasonably compare the respective resources of the clubs.
What's wrong with the football Moyes has got the side playing at the moment i.e. the present?
Aside from the injuries & lack of depth (resources) that's seen PN as a recent fixture in CM, what's wrong with the side, the setup & the attacking intent?
You're trying to hang Moyes for past mistakes & the fact that the ****e, have for the most, had a better side than us ffs.
Trying to compare Holloway as favourable to Moyes is a piss take.
Nothing at all mate. He's doing as well as ever IMO.
The discussion was whether he's the right type of fella for Man Utd. Due to what I've seen over his whole reign I said NO. The point above that if he were the type of manager who sent his side out to thrash sides by 2 or 3 regularly when it was possible to do so, which I believe it has been against worse sides, then he'd have a better chance.
I haven't had a go at him and I haven't really mentioned them much at all or his derby record.
And I compared what Holloway achieved at Blackpool to what Moyes has done with us. It's all relative as there's no two clubs the same size and stature in footbll but it's a fair comparison in terms of how difficult doing what Holloway did was(promotion and almost staying up), compared to Moyes getting us 4th.
If you don't feel like it was feel free to post your reasons why and make a show of me.
I'm not slating Moyes at all here so I'm not sure why you've jumped to his defence.
Agreed, not slating Moyes either, for some reason we are having an argument that we agree with though, he's not attacking enough for United but plays for the 3 points rather than the 3 goals.
I think he may change with better players and this season shows glimpses that that is possible but he won't get that chance imo.
I think Moyes next development as a manager will be finding the right balance between attacking and defending. He's shown that he can set sides up to do either or quite well. I hope for our sakes and his, cos he's a nice fella and a decnt type of person, that he can.
Couple more astute signings, that balance correct and a little luck for a change and we'll finally be on course to win something
Had roughly the same resources as Moyes when he took over I reckon except Blackpool were on a high. If Everton were better it wasn't a massive amount so. Moyes didn't go for broke every game but instead quietly went about accumulating points as best he could and slowly built the team we have now.
and you have no idea how many points he would of got with a different approach to be fair.
This is the most bizarre claim I've ever seen defending Moyes and tbh there's been quite a few over the years.
My own opinion is that he want's to move to a proper 4-2-3-1 and if we'd have got that Ofoe kid we'd have all the players needed to do it well. The nature of that means it's quite balanced anyway.
We're well capable of winning something, soon I hope.
He makes a good point, which part do you find bizarre?
If comparing us to Blackpool needs explaining there's no hope.
