Apparently we have missed out on Maik Taylor who is set to saty at Brum. N.O.T.W.

Ramsey is leaning toward Arsenal and Utd N.O.T.W.

Jo is Heading for City. (People)

and two players we have bided for in the past look set to leave their respective clubs.

Madjid Bougherra to Rangers or Espanyol.

Joey Barton is being sacked by Newcastle.

Wasnt Jo just touching down inn manchester last week according to the daily mail or something??

I think he may just be flying to manchester and getting a taxi down here, i dont think they do flights to liverpool :P

Apprently Cook has said on the bbc they are in advanced talks with him and expect the deal to be finalised by next weekend if not soones!
 
They're welcome to him if he's going to cost £18m. We've already got Yak who is proven to be worth 20+ goals a season, and he cost a lot less than this guy.
 
Just confirmed Newcastle are in talks about possibly ending Bartons contract, dare i suggest?

Sorry but after this post I have no option but to place you on the transfer list with a fee of £1 million because thats all Danny can afford to pay:lol::lol::lol:
 
Well its hard to argue, hes made a compleate tool of himself, and of his career thus far.

I am a big fan of his football ability as i have said many times on here. But he has many demons not least an alcohol addiction which even if he manages to stay away from the booze will always be a battle for him. Its a pity he could have had a great career when you think he was in the England squad a year ago, i would liken him to Gareth Barry in terms of ability and could have had a similar profile and there he is being bandied about in the 15 mill catgory.

I cant say we should sign him because hes to unpredictable and to much of a risk, but hypotheticly if Moyes offered him a contract untill the end of the season when he got out of the Klinck, on a pay as you play/behave basis i wouldnt slit my wrists. If someone is ever going to get anything out of him id back Moyes.

Whats the worst that could happen he could fill the barstool vactaed by AVDM (hopefully).

As a player he would be an ok signing, but for the amount of [Poor language removed] you get with him he is not worth even thinking about. I'd be horrified if Everton were to buy a player with his record.
 

After seeing his antics first hand last year I hope we leave well alone even if he tries to keep his nose clean there will be plenty of rednoses winding him up about his brother which is exactly why hes where he is now,he just can not control his temper and has a ego to match.(n)shame because he has talent

scum of the earth, i cant even believe he's been put in the same brackt as VDM, that scumbag is much much lower than VDM


the worst that could happen is that the good name of this club gets associated with a low life scumbag who shouldnt be allowed out of the nick, he's a total and utter ********(n)(n)(n)

plus

he would be pretty useless as a signing being available only for away games due to his ban from the city

That was a condiditon of his bail mate, like i said im a fan of his ability but cant argue we should sign him based on his behaviour and unpredicability. I am a fan of his as a PLAYER, if Moyes did feel he could do a job or offer him a short term pay as you play contract to see if he could sort him out i wouldnt be up in arms Granted its a risk anyway you look at it. Like you say you couldnt trust that his actions wouldnt sully the clubs good name.

Its intresting to note wasnt Woodgate was found guilty of a similar offence. Id take him all day long. However Bartons behaviour on previous occasions would make mitagaiton just untenable.

There is no doubt Barton has talent. We should not take the chance on him. Even if he has been smart enough to learn his lesson and turn himself about? He would not be match fit for a while and even then there is the psychological effect that would have taken its toll just being in prison. I know....I spent six months at her Majesty's pleasure just because of some simple accounting errors with my income tax.........It really does mess you up in the head......And thats all assuming he has the good sense to learn from his mistakes!
