FC C: Lashing out at Arteta just because they didnt rate an American player smacks of wrongness.

The sometimes sexual Spaniard has carried the team enough times and played through a groin strain for at least 12 years. And you would wouldnt you? Maybe after a couple of eggnogs too many, when you looked into his dreamy eyes.

Dont deny yourself.

Call me crazy but everytime I saw Ryan Babel take the pitch, he was a threat.

Two strides and he was past his marker and it wasn't like he was a speed merchant. Just deceptively quick. Had a good shot on him too.

I wouldn't mind him crossing the park to play for us but Rafael would be stupid to let him go.

It just blew my mind though how often he wasn't used last year.

I happen to think this guy could be special. So do lots of rs fans

Please Bill tell me your on a wind up??

He's [Poor language removed], he's got the worst first touch iv evr seen. He can't pass, tackle, shoot, head or trap the ball. He's not to bad when running at players but his crossing is woefull. He is one waste of 11m.

The reason he was'nt used. Is because every time he played he was [Poor language removed].

Mate you'v been watching different games from me.

He's not [Poor language removed] at all. He's a very talented player and one of the best coming out of Holland at the moment. He's still adapting to the English League yes and at 20 thats expected.

10 goals in 29 games is alot of promise in my opinion. Thats the same amount of goals as Johnson in less games. The fact that he was playing on the left wing makes it look even better.

Liverpool spent 11 million on him because they know he'll come good. If you want one of the better talents in Europe then you have to pay for it.

I'll admit Babel has looked like a donkey sometimes running up and down that left flank but he's still maturing and he's yet to have a run in his favoired position. He's a striker. More of a second striker in all honesty. He drops deep, links play and runs at people. Anyone who watched him in the under 21 championships would have seen his quality. He was one of the best players in the compeition and that compeition had an adundance of quality up and coming players.

He's raw yes but he's not [Poor language removed]. In a few seasons he'll be a key player for Liverpool playing off Torres. Benitez is using him on the wing like Wenger used Henry on the wing. Improve there composure and technical qualities and then throw then upfront.

Playing under 21 an stepping up to the prem is a million miles apart mate. He's raw, no mate hes [Poor language removed]. You can butter him up all you like. But iv seen enough of him to form my opinion. You say he's a 2nd striker that playes on the left......not my fault. Unless hes got the ball at feet running at a defence. Hes no danger at all.

Most my r/s mates dont rate him at all. I dont either. Bt who cares about them...their all [Poor language removed].

Edwin Van Der Sar - About on par with Howard but MUCH older!
Peter Chec - Better the Howard (Better then anyone in the Premier League!)
Jen Lehmann - [Poor language removed]
Reina - Inconsistant... i'd rather have Howard
Scott Carson - Not as good as Howard... younger but not better
Brad Friedel - A really good keeper. Better then Howard... But MUCH older
David James - Had a great season but still suffers from a rush of blood to the head. On par with Howard... But Much older!
Joe Hart - A very good prospect but nowhere near as good as Howard... yet.
Robert Green - Good shot stopper (on par with Howard), overall Howard just wins this one though.
Paul Robinson - LOL! Pile of [Poor language removed]
Mark Schwarzer - Past it
Chris Kirkland - Not as good as we thought he'd be. Not as good as Howard.
Craig Gordon - Looked out of his depth in the EPL, not as good as Howard
Jussi Jaskalinen - Good but not as good as Howard and older
Kasey Keller - Pile of wank
Marcus Hannaman - Pretty rubbish
Maik Taylor - Rubbish
Roy Carol - Awful!

Ok so theres a few spelling mistakes in there as not sure hwo to spell certain names but from this I can gather there are 2 keepers better the Howard in the Premier League - Chec & Freidel. One is much older the Howard and therefore will fade away in the next couple of seasons or so. 2 who are on par with Howard - Van Der Sar & James... both are much older so again i'd rather not have either of these over our man. There's probably only Joe Hart who has the potential to be better then Howard but he's not at the same standard as our man yet and may not be for a few years.

If I had to swap Howard with a keeper from the premier league i'd choose Chec... obviously this would never happen, so out of the rest of the bunch, taking in to consideration age, experience, value for money, I think we have the best we can hope for. I'm really struggling to see these 5 better keepers mentioned by someone here. I'm presuming that person meant Van Der Sar, Chec, James and Friedel, but they are all much older and only have a couple of seasons left in them.

Good post. I'd actually take Howard over Chec. Despite having an all-world defence he hasn't played well since Steven Hunt skullf(*$ed him (why didn't he do that to Terry instead???). I wouldn't take VanDerSar over Howard either, I think he's the weak link of the Utd team.

Also if the Chech Rep doesn't qualify for the WC, I guess Howard will prob be the 3rd-4th best keeper in the tourney (Casillias, Buffon, maybe James who will be 37 and runs hot and cold from season to season).

Babel seems like a talented but brainless player, I can't decide if I like him or not.

So your calling a 20 year old [Poor language removed] without giving him a chance to develop and find his feet in English football. Great logic mate. Players need time and someone like Babel was bought because of his potential.

So the fact that he's scored 10 goals from the wing in his first in English football doesn't impress you? Thats the same amount of goals as Cahill and Johnson scored this season in a simialar amount of games. 10 goals in 29 starts from a left winger is a good record for me.

No its not your fault that he's playing out of position but surely it would be fair to let him get a run of games in his natural position before judging. I certainly wouldn't judge Yakubu if Moyes moved him to the left wing and expected him to play there effectively. Obviously Babel is capable of playing outwide as he's shown but he is definatly a striker and in future will be played there.

I think your juding to early to be honest. You remind me of one of those fans who wrote Ronaldo off and called him a showboat in his few seasons. Babel needs time but he will come good as he is a talented player.

Whatever the truth about Babel, Howard etc., it's quite clear that opinions are allowed on this forum!

I rememver Branch as a 20 year old. Just like bable. ok with ball at feet running but otherwise [Poor language removed]. I said then he was [Poor language removed] an guess what.........he was!!

Im not a fan of bable, in my eyes he'll never make it a a top footballer. But i could be wrong, But so could you.

I've got to disagree with you on this one, mate. He's struck me as having bags of potential and I've even wondered why he's not had more first team football. Watch the way he turns and twists and keeps possession of the ball. He also seems to read the game well, and is excellent at finding space and catching onto passes. Top player, in my opinion.

If you look back to what iv wrote, iv said at least 3 times i think he's good on the ball!! Its everything else he can't do. pass, head, tackle an most of all his first touch is the worst iv ever seen.

Have you ever really watched him for 90m?? Oh no sorry he never gets a full game. Wonder why!! An his reading of the game is poor. Full backs always pass him, the r/s lose plenty of goals from his side.

Right now, he's just not good. IMO
