New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I’ve just watched the latest footage of the new stadium and I’m absolutely floored. It looks stunning—modern, world-class, and exactly the home this club deserves. I’ve been a part of this community since 2019, and through all the stress of following Everton, the magic of the club still gets to me.
I truly hope that once the war is over, and if I’m still around to see it, I’ll finally make it to the dock to experience a match in person. To stand there and see the Blues play at the waterfront is the dream.

Be careful as it could become the
“United Utilities Sewage Treatment Plant End”.

We've certainly set the bar when it comes to standards:

Tbf, if Brum does manage to deliver their new stadium, I think it will be a level above ours on most metrics. Perhaps the chimney towers aside, which tbh are as much functional elements as they are aesthetic...... as they will house stairwells/lifts and other facilities, plus they will support the roof.

Their South Stand will supposedly hold approx 20k and appears to be practically mirrored at the North stand, but which will be zoned/marketed differently to include an away corner section. It is also supposed to have a closing roof, moving pitch and several dedicated corporate tiers on the sides. Plus of course it will hold 10k more. All dependent on if it is built.

This is the thing: they will need to get into the Premier League and stay there for it ever to be viable.

Couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately I think some of our fans buy into it as well.

Lost count of the amount of times over the years people have shared an “on this day X amount of years ago” video of the Arteta goal against Fiorentina and the associated atmosphere. Dwelling on it like it was one of the “great” moments. We were timid as hell in the first leg, played very well in that second leg, but as per usual, bottled the shootout and got knocked out. Rangers beat them in the next round!
If we were a pop band, our greatest hits collection would have had NOTHING on it after 1995.

That's a dreadful reality - especially for fans under 40.

It'll be half empty most the time. A mythical idea based on a mythical vision of the city dreamed up for a TV show about a gangsters empire that didn't exist.

Like the new old trafford... Not a chance it gets built

As we found, building a new stadium takes a decade and more. Birmingham don't have a prayer of building it and filling it unless they are in the Premier League and competing. Nobody is coming from abroad to watch Birmingham without the Premier League. As for United, I think they are going through a periodic hissy fit where only building a giant stadium restores their own sense of superiority - because it sure isn't happening on the pitch at the moment, despite their recent (temporary?) improvement. Unlike, say, Real Madrid, United are well capable of going another decade without a domestic title. They have more in common with AC Milan or Juventus than they do Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern. I doubt "Sir Jim" is flexible enough and humble enough to build such a stadium when his ego, greed, and entitlement will prevent him from doing a proper deal with surrounding landowners to get the project moving. He doesn't have a generous enough imagination to succeed.

Something I have noticed about our beautiful ground in the away support - something has to be done.

A fence separate home and away fans until you literally get out onto the dock road and it’s a free for all. I’ve been surrounded by West Ham fans myself earlier in the season and thankfully they were all sound but coming out against City I saw 2 fellas about to scrap. My cousin mentioned he saw someone get knocked out against Wolves. It’s a bit stupid to me. The away fans need to be kept in for at least 15 minutes after.

I did the tour yesterday and whilst it was brilliant and a lot longer than the Goodison one, I did notice one thing that irked me. None of our trophies appear to be on display at all, whether it be in the corridors/reception areas or a trophy cabinet. I know we haven’t won anything for a good while now but surely the success we have had should still be celebrated? Perhaps the trophies are still at Goodison and they just haven’t found a home for them yet… just hope there’s plans for a proper trophy cabinet/museum in future.

Honestly as good as these are, I get tired of the club putting stuff like this out. Random limbs from a goal during a match we drew with a sickener at the end that’s probably cost us a decent go at Europe.

Perhaps if the club ever got over the line in a meaningful way there’d be a much better crowd reaction to push out on their socials.

I know it’s overly negative but I’m fed up of this club always just pushing the fans to the front whenever they’ve had a bad night ‘look how good our fans are’…yes we know, we’re the only good thing about the club for the last three decades.

How about a few videos of Everton players lifting trophies, winning away at top teams and beating Liverpool in derbies. Not much of that content to go out is there.
They'd have to go some way to eclipse the "Magnificent Seventh" DVD of a few years ago. The epitome of how far we'd fallen as a club. Even the RS I knew were like "Oh, lad..."

These moments aren’t shared as examples of glory tho are they - they’re shared as moments of joy. Most seasons pass without glory, but there’s normally loads of moments of joy involved enroute and we have to make the most of them! That Arteta goal was up there as a moment of joy for me and I’m sure many others - as was Jake’s header this week. Let’s take the joy now and hope for glory in the future.

Well everyone is different, and I don’t get to define what people find joy in so I take your point on that. And I agree to a point, nothing wrong with going back and looking at something that meant something on the night. Where I differ slightly is that I don’t take any retrospective joy from either of those goals looking back now. Was Arteta’s goal incredible in the moment? Yeah, I was there and the roof nearly came off. If we had got through it could be something I look back at fondly.

But I personally can’t dwell on a great moment in a game that was a prelude to a defeat. I know Jake’s moment on Monday wasn’t in a defeat but some draws feel like wins, and that isn’t one of them. The final result was very much a kick in the balls. I remember going one up in the 86 cup final, and McCall equalising at the end in 89 to force extra time. I was jumping for joy in both those moments but the subsequent result killed any sense of that for me. But I suppose everyone is different.

Yeah - although ive still got affection for Stuart McCall! And in no way is my post meant to defend “The Magnificent Seventh” DVD - this season’s “The Perfect Tenth” will be a bad idea too!

It's a disgrace tbh mate, came over recently with my little lad to see me mum and dad and booked him in for a tour for his birthday, told him about our history and how he's get to see a bit of it up close etc. Other than some branding on the walls and a couple of mentions of old players there was nothing. Shocking effort from the club tbh.

The fence separation is relatively new since they allowed home fans to walk along the car parking bit next to the water works. Earlier in the season it was just a few barriers and the crossing of fingers that nothing kicked off.

There was a bit of agro after the arsenal game which maybe made them think about changing something.

It's not too different to the bullens road before, lots of home fans would walk after the game in the direction of town and mix with the away fans coming out. The only (and quite a big) problem is the exit gate which slows everyone down and pushes them together
