Add Patterson to that list as well lad...had too solid games in a row both one nil victories n hasnt been seen sinceRohl was brilliant against Villa has barely set foot on the pitch since
Armstrong was brought back during the Afcon has barely set foot on the pitch since it finished when he was developing well at Preston
Aznou last cameo looked like something we needed, hasnt been seen since
Dibling is not even getting a sniff,
I could understand all of these decisions if we was flying but....................
The guy has played one minute in the past three months. One minute since the last opportunity to loan him out.
This is an unmitigated disaster.
Has he really been that bad though when he has played? Yes he hasn’t done much but he hasn’t played a load of suicide balls like McNeil has.
He’s probably fed up of seeing the same old players putting in the same old rubbish getting picked every week whilst Moyes suggests he’s not good enough in press conferences.
Why should any of the bench players push for a fair crack of the whip when Gueye McNeil Tarkwoski etc. can literally make mistake after mistake and never get dropped.

George followed that up with an all time stinker against Liverpool. McNeil has been poor overall. McNeil certainly hasn't done enough with the starts he's been getting to show he's deserving of having an undisputed starting spot which is what he's getting. They have though. George had a decent showing a game or two ago (Brentford was it?) McNeil was decent for a couple of games.
Dibling has shown nothing. To be fair to the lad he has not had a chance to show anything of note, but he shouldn't just be getting a start because it's his turn or anything.
He is obviously not doing enough to catch the managers eye which is worrying is it's a fairly low bar. I don't think it's an age thing with Dibling either. He has played plenty of top flight games.
Its about alignment in recuritment for me mate and i think the the below happened.
1) The administration bought Dibling as part of an overall transfer strategy of buy young, improve them and manage them as assets.
2) The manager signed of on the signing as part of an over all transfer strategy by the club, but was way down his list and sees him as a work in progress or not PL ready.
While no one necessarily disagree with any of the above - it essentially means in Dibling and other cases we have a bench full of players who cost the best part of 100 mill who cant get mins.
Now im on board with the whole wait with these players ( i honestly am).
But if i am TFG id be asking big questions in terms of investment/mins of the players brought in and how aligned the transfer strategy is to the players the manager will realistically use - becuase that is the goal at the end of the day = bring players in to influence results.
For me there seems a clear lack of alignment between strategy in recruitment and the application of those recruited in influencing result's.
There are plenty of ways we can look at these decisions of why or why not, some will say it's just Moyes being Moyes, but it could be as simple as he knows and maybe is happy to part ways at the end of his contract. But this season he realised there was a sniff of Europe and went full on with that on his mind, The best way for him to do that is go with what he knows..Agree with all this
I just think though if we’d given Dibling a run of starts when Ndiaye went to the AFCON and kept him in the team he’d have grown into being the player we thought we were buying.
As it was though he got a handful of opportunities and saw Armstrong and other players out of position being played ahead of him, then McNeil who we didn’t even want to keep in January nailing down a starting spot that he’s never been taken out of since.
If Dibling had received the leniency McNeil has this season he’d be a better player for us now. Even Ndiaye and Gueye got numerous games after AFCON when they blatantly weren’t fit to play their way back to fitness. Dibling gets a cameo and if he makes a single error we don’t see him for weeks again .
That just backs up the fact of how limited Moyes is imo. Can't make a push for top half and integrate a few youngsters at the same time, it's seemingly got to be on or the other. There are plenty of ways we can look at these decisions of why or why not, some will say it's just Moyes being Moyes, but it could be as simple as he knows and maybe is happy to part ways at the end of his contract. Things behind the scenes maybe aren't as rosy as people think, Europe could have been his last Hoorah..

Strikes me as a coach who has judgement tunnel vision with players and they have to have certain attributes otherwise he'll not even look at what these players can add in other ways. Makes for an inflexible and rigid game plan without any nuances to add to it hence his like for like substitutionsThat just backs up the fact of how limited Moyes is imo. On what basis can you say we would probably have a "handful more points" ? We may easily have had a few less points. I'm fairly confident if lads were tearing it up in training they'd be straight in.We’ll never know what the reason is.
If he’d been even a tiny bit holder this season we’d probably be on a handful more points and be in a fantastic position for Europe, but he’s changed winning teams to cram his old favourites in which have then played poorly the next game, he’s taken far too long to make the same ineffective substitutions and ultimately a fully fit and confident Dibling Rohl Iroegbunam or George might be giving him far more now in the push for Europe than McNeil or Gueye.
