2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Moyes has literally just said hes not going to give young players a chance when theres things to play for - when questioned on Braiden Graham joining the squad for West Ham.

He said he'll have to perform in preseason and see if he shows something then

Basically underling what some believe that Moyes writes an 11 down at the start of the season and goes with it as much as he can.

You have ONE CHANCE a season with Moyes and thats preseason.

Talk about demotivating, depressing and basically a stupid approach when most other managers use their squads.

Lets assume Armstrong is homesick as well lol

Delusional people making up stories and lies to support this manager.

Just take Moyes or leave him at face value, he doesnt hide his contempt for others.

I dont think there’s much in these rumours about his love of the game or attitude etc. All I’m seeing is a somewhat introverted 19/20 year old undergoing a massive change in his personal life.
If it is just being an introvert it’s probably not helping him as he’ll be less willing to ask Moyes why he’s not playing etc.

I’m convinced his style of play simply isn’t what Moyes wants and he’s either trying to coach him into something else or simply isn’t having him full stop, either way makes his purchase all the more weird.
Clubs don’t spend £40m on prodigal youngsters if they don’t have something about them, Everton certainly shouldn’t be when the limitations of the first 11 were there for all to see.
If its disillusionment or genuine lack of interest in being a footballer, where was Moyes much lauded due diligence on character during the months of pursuit of him?

His situation got me thinking about Boss Rarkleys roles in Moyes last season compared to Martinez first:
Edited to include loans

Suppose that will be dismissed as Moyes getting Barkley ready for the prem rather than seeing him as risk he wasn’t prepared to play.……
I guess what happens to Dibling next season will be insightful.

*table edited to include loans but the point remains, he wasn’t deemed good enough for our team one season, but was a starter and selected for England under a different manager the next.
Weird that a young player who is a year older and has ~17 full matches of experience is ready for a bigger role the year after. It's almost as if that's the point of loans/giving young players short minutes from the bench!

Moyes just doesn’t like playing young lads, decent or not, no one can tell me other wise.

I remember he held Rooney back for far too long when he broke through, the kid was watching crap starting ahead of him, just like dibling is doing now.

We’ve practically fugged Europe after the last two results, we may pick up 6 more points if we’re lucky, but don’t think others will drop too many around us, so plan for next year and get dibling, aznou, Armstrong, Rohl, Alcaraz in the team now.

He doesn't track back, a wide player guilty of this will never play in a Moyes team. They wouldn't in most manager's tbh, unless their goal involvement is brilliant.

It was a weird buy given where we were as a club last summer. How Moyes is escaping scrutiny for it is a joke, he had the final say in everything recruitment wise. As usual though he will take no responsibilty for failures.
It's somewhere between the two. The club's been making disastrous signings like this for years, yet a number of people seem to be placing it directly at Moyes only. He is clearly part of it, so it is his fault as well and he deserves to be criticised, but it's still the club itself making awful decisions. It's difficult to see what the difference would be with other managers; is our system suddenly going to be finding amazing Brazilian teenagers because one man isn't at the club? I don't see any sign of it.

Rohl was brilliant against Villa has barely set foot on the pitch since
Armstrong was brought back during the Afcon has barely set foot on the pitch since it finished when he was developing well at Preston
Aznou last cameo looked like something we needed, hasnt been seen since
Dibling is not even getting a sniff,

I could understand all of these decisions if we was flying but....................

Said exactly this in other threads, it’s just bizarre management, and if I’m TFG I wouldn’t give Moyes or his transfer committee another pound to spend.

I am not having the he sees them every day in training, they are crap horseshiz either, they have not been given a fair crack of the whip, end of.

Also, forget the training, during matches he’s watching Dwight mctreacle revert to type and not bother and he’s still picking him, or Myko not be able to cross his legs never mind a football, and still picks him.

If your a good lad who listens to Davey and does what he says, you get picked, regardless of ability or performance.

Shocking and embarassing the way he's been handled. Our biggest signing of the summer and he's getting less gametime than a player we wanted to sell (McNeil) and a player who is on loan.
The problem is he has done absolutely nothing with the little chances he has been given.

Whenever he next gets a chance he need to take it.

Wonder why we / he didn’t loan Dibling straight back to Soton or elsewhere if it’s so important / beneficial for his development….. it’s not like he played 30 odd games in the prem last season 🧐

Neither have McNeil or George though.
They have though. George had a decent showing a game or two ago (Brentford was it?) McNeil was decent for a couple of games.

Dibling has shown nothing. To be fair to the lad he has not had a chance to show anything of note, but he shouldn't just be getting a start because it's his turn or anything.

He is obviously not doing enough to catch the managers eye which is worrying is it's a fairly low bar. I don't think it's an age thing with Dibling either. He has played plenty of top flight games.
