2025/26 David Moyes

Doing his best to scupper the best chance of European footy in years.

He will speak about the penalty, as he should as it’s a total disgrace, but wham we’re better than us for large parts of the game, and wanted it more, which we can’t accept.

Still don’t think it’s the right call to be extending Myko and Keane - we need so much better.

I also cannot get over his use of the squad and subs this season - simply horrendous.

It's all so very cosy and mediocre at best: Moyes and players like Keane and Mykolenko.

The owners need to be reading the room now. There's no stomach for this anymore.

That's been my main issue , subs /lack off, countless times we've needed fresh legs/something different. I know we've probs got away wirh it a few times but still annoys me

The bigger issue is that we have mostly the same players that have been fighting relegation for years. The squad needs another £400-500 million of investment before it can challenge at the top. I’ve seen fans saying that the £100 million we spent last summer was a lot, it’s not nowadays.

I agree to a point.

But to counter that you’ve only got to look at some of the players Brighton, Brentford & Bournemouth have signed for low ish fees to know they are out there.

Not every player has to cost 30/40/50 million to be good.

Those 3 clubs have proven that time & time again.

Seriously though what do you think the chances are of a new manager in the summer? Unfortunately I think it’s slim but we’ll know how ambitious the ownership are that’s for sure.

As you say mate, a new manager is slim because, and I’ve said it before, our owners for the time being will be happy with the stability Moyes brings.

I know you're replying to Dave so that's probably influencing what you've written. But I'll say for myself - if this time next season we're still below Brighton, Brentford, Fulham and Bournemouth then I can confidently say I will not feel that's anywhere near good enough for where we're at as a club.

We've had a few years in the wilderness, but we've come out the other side with new owners and a world class stadium. It's not good enough to be failing to compete with clubs a fraction of our size/budget. Being better than those teams should be the absolute minimum level required.
Loving your definition of 'a few years in the wilderness '.
