2025/26 David Moyes

Overall he's done well since he came back.

We were in trouble last season and mid table obscurity is ok after the trauma of last few years.

But if there was a blueprint of a Moyes season, it's this.

Joyless, cautious football. Knocked out of both cups. Bottled every chance to get a European place.
I think this is a perfect way of summing him up.

The way that some call him a fraud etc is a joke, but I think we have seen his limits as well.

Before all the in house fighting starts, let me just remind everyone of this.

It’s OK if you think he deserves another season.

It’s also OK if you think we can do better & want him replaced.

For me, I can recognise the good job he’s done stabilising us.

But I think it’s time we showed more ambition. Owners and fans.

Would also be nice to watch better football too if I’m being greedy.
The bigger issue is that we have mostly the same players that have been fighting relegation for years. The squad needs another £400-500 million of investment before it can challenge at the top. I’ve seen fans saying that the £100 million we spent last summer was a lot, it’s not nowadays.

Unless we win the last 4 games that’s not going to happen anyway.

Any type of Europe is positive however we’re starting to see the real Moyes again. Stubborn to the core. Safety over risk. Predictable lineups, square pegs in round holes.
Spot on. He's done what was asked for in keeping us up last season and consolidated us this year. Pay his final year and send him to the world cup in the summer as a pundit, as far away as possible from us while we get a more forward thinking manager. Its plain to see we will not progress with him at the helm next season.

I would be seriously worried if they don't out him in the summer, it would show a complete lack of ambition.
People will come on here and defend him but I am completely baffled by what the see in him.
Mcniel was getting sold in January then gets picked every game while players he bought in the summer just sit on the bench.Barry who he also bought just drifts through games with zero contribution .
Moyes has never had an attacking bone in his body and never will have give him until the end of the season then move him on.

so if they keep moyes for another season they have no ambition?

i give up then

let’s ask 777 to buy us and hire dyche

boooom jobs a good un

I thank him for the job he’s done getting us from regular relegation candidates to functional mid tablers

That all being said, I don’t think he’s the man to kick us on

He’s stabilised us and got us through an always tricky first season at a new ground

Thank him and send him on his way at the end of the season or move him upstairs

He’s a good manager, no doubt, but he has his ceiling and if we want to be regular European qualifiers and challengers for cups, I just don’t think he’s the man to do it

If we leave Moyes in charge we’re giving ourselves a real challenge to recruit in the summer. Now we won’t get Europe there’s every chance we’ll face a battle to keep Ndiaye. Any prospective new signings are going to look at the treatment of Dibling, Aznou, Rohl and George and have serious doubts about playing for that manager. Meanwhile you can all but guarantee that Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford will make shrewd signings that make an instant impact.

I’m bored of us being rubbish and dull to watch.
Any signings made without premier league experience will be slowly integrated into the side as Moyes like Dyche has this hang up of players needing to be Premier League tested

'Abysmal'. Come on mate, if we're in a similar position next year you'll be telling us it's about right for where we are as a club.
I know you're replying to Dave so that's probably influencing what you've written. But I'll say for myself - if this time next season we're still below Brighton, Brentford, Fulham and Bournemouth then I can confidently say I will not feel that's anywhere near good enough for where we're at as a club.

We've had a few years in the wilderness, but we've come out the other side with new owners and a world class stadium. It's not good enough to be failing to compete with clubs a fraction of our size/budget. Being better than those teams should be the absolute minimum level required.

I just hope if we keep him we don't fritter any more money away. He can sell Dibling, Rohl, McNeill, Aznou, Armstrong, Alcaraz and Barry and then reinvest the money on a slow 30 year old right back, Thomas Soucek and a 6 foot 4 immobile centre forward.

A typical Moyes performance when it's important at this stage of the season.

Entirely predictable and we've seen it all before. The club will back him for another season but he's not the right man longer term.
All I'll say is if this club backs him for another season AND increases ticket prices, our fanbase deserve everything they get. Mugs to a man putting up with this expensive disappointment.
