Europe Thread 25/26

I know everyone wants the UCL or worst case scenario, UEL, but tbh the the direction this club has taken the past few seasons, I think any European competition would and should be seen as a thing to get excited about. And let's be totally honest and blunt here: UCL would be cool and all, but no way in hell we would have a chance to win it anyway. Though yes I understand the prestige/financial aspects of it.

May be in the minority with that thinking mind haha.

Regardless, let's see how the rest of this season goes!

Of course in terms of actually playing the games Conference may be best.

But as you say the financial aspects have to be that Champions league is the top wish.

Europa is a nice balance as the winner gets into the champions league.

Different reasons for excitement for each.

…..reading that Man Utd players get a 25% salary bonus if the club qualify for Champions League and how it might make it more difficult to move players currently on loan. Had they won the Europa League last season it’d cost them £30m in bonuses.

What happens if Villa win the Europa League and finish in the Champions League places? Does the Champions League go down to 6th?

No.

If villa (or Forest) finish outside the top 5, then theyd just get the spot of the Title Holder, and England wouls get 6.

If Villa qualify via the league, and win the Europa, then the title holder spot would go to the team who's Nation is ranked highest without an automatic spot i.e. Scotland/Greece etc

I'm sure i read somewhere if villa finish 5th which could happen and win the europa then 6th place would be champions league.
I'm not sure if its because the top 4 is champions league. We've just been given another place because of coefficient I think. I'm not sure how it works for europa league and conference though if that was to happen.
Just aim for top 8 and hope city win the fa cup and we'll get something.

Actually I believe it's if they win it and finish outside of the top 5, which is sadly almost impossible now.

This is basically what we need for a chance at Europe.
City win the FA Cup as we know they're going to be in the Champion's League.

All scenarios are on this link.

guys its very simple math

only 5 teams qualify for champions league - the top 5 teams in the league

if villa or forest win europa and finish outside of the top 5, they will also qualify for champions league meaning that 6 prem clubs would be in it

if arsenal win the champions league and finish outside the top 5, they will also qualify for champions league meaning that 7 prem clubs would be in it

its very simple

Ah, this is a perfect summary, mate…

Thanks to that new EPS BS that UEFA have implemented this season, there’s an extra spot up for grabs.

Chelsea can't catch Arsenal now mathematically so there won't be 7 teams
