None of those people matter at this point, but it just hammers home the level of buyers who were interested in us at the time. It was clear neither party had the access to cash to close the deal.
The 24/25 numbers show a business that is broken, unprofitable, and unable to replace assets (players) at the rate needed. It's why we had such a limited pool of interested parties. PSR/SCR being implemented (and enforced) further narrows the pool of buyers imo (see what is happening to Newcastle).
But for the club, writing off what has been accomplished thus far, financially, is borderline embarrassing. None of the known interested parties would have been able to accomplish this, to this degree. Certainly others, just as well financed, could have. But they were not bidding to our knowledge.
The football needs to follow it, obviously, but the finance needs to happen before the football, not the other way around.
