2025/26 Thierno Barry

Yeah, 23 is not young. But you are right, hate is a strong word. Lets say a bit more than mild dislike right now. He has been self centred for a his duration here, compare that to Beto who has been a great sport. And he has been a professional for about the same amount of time.
Absolutely, he has shown the immaturity of someone who has never settled anywhere because he has been going from one club to the next in quick succession because he’s done well.

I am speculating but with that success without any grounding it might bring hangers on who are not serving him well and that leads to the kind of actions and reactions we have seen of him.

I understand your perspective, but I don't agree with it. It is not beyond him to get the right kind of entourage, if that is in fact causing him to fail socially. Again he is not a kid. It is insane that we are ok blaming the context and the immediate circle for his faults. But full disclosure, I am not a fan of overly successful prima donnas. I like grounded players.

I do get what you mean but while he is 23, he has not stayed at a single club for longer than a year since he was 17. If you also factor in that of the clubs he has moved to/from, they have been in France > Belgium > Switzerland > Spain > England

You’ve got no idea what he is like as a person and how he is around his team mates. To say you hate, dislike and label him a prima donna is pretty poor.

By all accounts he works hard out of training which says to me he has a good work ethic and has a good chance of being able to make it as a decent striker in the premier league.

His ‘entourage’ or family and friends he chooses to socialise with is his choice for trying to settle in another country. Haven’t seen reports of him partying and out drinking causing issues like other players have done previously.

He’s had a tough first season, but a full preseason getting stronger will hopefully mean a better next season, and yeah he made a mistake with his mates getting tickets against Arsenal, but he’ll hopefully learn from that.

Barry, is a conundrum. I don't hate the guy based on his footballing skills but I hate the guy for his off field antics. I still think there is a decent footballer in there but his game is so spotty that we need someone who is hungry for that goal. And he just seems like someone who would blame the xG for not scoring enough.
Latch and Barry in the same sentence well I never

Exactly my point, it is his choice. I didn't call him a prima donna. I said, I have that preference, so if he is good in training. That is good. But doesn't mean I have to like the fellow. Para-social relationships are like that. He does not seem like a 'my friend' material to me. He can do phenomenally well for my club and I hope he does. But I hope Beto does better than that too...

For anyone who went Saturday did he acknowledge the fans at the end or walk straight off again?
Hopefully he comes on Sunday and scores a derby goal to help us take 3 points

For the record if he does score the winner against the RS, I’ll be doing a full 180 and will be hailing him as the second coming of R9
If you look at the absolute state of the pr videos going out where he avoids cones and hits it past a static goalie I may join you and windmill my Distin all over town
