2025/26 David Moyes

Whatever you say about Moyes he is what he is, a safe pair of hands, he gives us stability, has a great work ethic but, he's he's always going to have that safety first attitude in games, first aim is don't get beat, keep it tight and hope to nick one mentality and most of the times it works. That's why we'll see the likes of McNeil starting over George.

I notice you haven't answered my question over what you feel he should be getting criticized for.
In the grand scheme of things nothing. But today was a perfect example of why he has a self imposed glass ceiling.
He had no intention of taking the game to Brentford, hence why when they scored early we looked bereft of ideas when they let us have the ball.
All the equaliser did was reset his game plan to keep it tight and nick a goal opposed to attacking them until that went south again.
Their free kick coach had all the answers for a Moyes master class.

We started off the day looking up and talking of Europe and ended it looking behind us at Bournemouth and Fulham

One of the very first things that happened with George on the pitch was conceding from an attack on his side of the pitch. He wasn't the only one to blame there but I did notice he didn't offer much defending before leaving Kayode to Garner to deal with.

The club needs to move on from the stability narrative at some point.

Ok, so there was no criticism to deflect with excuses?

Think you are missing the intent.

Before 90mins was up every excuse under the sun was being rolled out to deflect any criticism from Moyes.
As is typically the case in here when there’s anything but a win.

Oh NOW we are judging the table after a single result and saying it's a failure? I thought we were waiting until the end of the season to pass judgement.

Every time we don't win a match....

That's what I was sort of saying mate, McNeil will start over George because he offers more defensively, and that fits more in with Moyes mentality.

Moyes -

1. Idrissa Gana Gueye is James Garner’s backup. Stop forcing them into the same midfield.

2. Stop playing Dwight McNeil.

3. Stop playing Jake O’Brien at RB.

4. Just stop playing Theirno Barry. It’s like going down to 10 men.

5. Keep Michael Keane on the Bench

Do this and we can still make Europe.
Think he’s managed to navigate us to a chance of Europe so far without your expert opinion, but I’m sure he’s taking notes.

No intention of taking the game to Brentford?

We had the better chances from open play before their jammy deflected second.

We were the better side in the first half. Brentford came out full pelt in the second half like most home teams do and we weathered it well.

And we're still talking of Europe unless you're one of the few that would rather nitpick and moan about Moyes not winning every match.

Didn’t you know mate, we are Everton! We should be rolling every team over by 3 or 4!

These blood thirsty die hard internet fans demand it!
