They do seem incredibly pessimistic on the whole - but the arrogance is still there with some of them.

To add to my initial point, while we obviously didn’t have a quality-laden squad, the players did not down tools and bought into the effort with us.

Spurs’ players simply have not and look pre-beaten. That’s why I believe they will finish in the relegation zone, and I have no preference what happens to them either way. I will not rejoice nor will I be sad. As long as it’s not us I have no preference.

If they do drop however, I will be mighty amused at the mental gymnastics Sky Sports will attempt next season by pretending the top two tiers are now incredible.

I wouldn’t shed any tears if your lot went down, mate.

But my brother was pretty supportive in the countless seasons when we were fighting the drop, so I have to reciprocate the sentiment…

I'm not denying that winning any trophy should be a cause for celebration but you do realise that you are in a relegation battle and should be focusing on that?

Did you watch West Ham yesterday? Nervy start - then a well taken goal, and then confidence and belief and a crowd behind them. Honestly this sort of comment sounds like a bitter divorced dad saying at least he has a fancy car even if the payment is killing them. Concentrate on what matters - which if this is a typical comment from Spurs fans will soon be getting out of the championship.

We’ve never won that. We’ve won 2 UEFA cups and Europa and a cup winners cup though - we’ve outperformed Arsenal in Europe but no one ever asks why they were going to join a European super league.

We won’t go down, we’re Spurs, we will find a way. We then need rid of Vinai and Lange and someone with some nous running the football side of things
