I'd hazard a guess the people who are still hung up on Moyes going to United are people that don't deal well with rejection in their personal life.

Spot on - his experience has been vital - but entertainment wise most games have been not pretty to watch - but TBH its better than a relegation dog fight - Europe would be a certainty now if our home form had been just average - his methods suit catching teams on the break two banks of four etc - hence our great away record -I don't think anyone begrudged him of that move. I mean, how many clubs would give a guard of honour/make an occasion out of their manager going to a regional rival? We did.
I didn't like his patronising comments about Everton when he was trying to sign a few of our players, and how he knew the players he wanted would want to leave - but he was probably right. I also didn't like how comfortable/confident he was revealing how his move to Man Utd occured.
But bygones be bygones.
For me, you can acknowledge he's done a great job, while also thinking it's small margins and think he isn't the right option long term. I, and most wanted Sam Allardyce sacked for finishing 8th.
Ironically, his biggest advocates now, would probably be his biggest critics if we lost 2 that we'd won, and sat 13th/14th. That's football.
I think the Pro- Moyes contingent has been pretty consistent this season to be fair, even after we'd dropped the league an went out the League Cup.I don't think anyone begrudged him of that move. Also the term "Long term",what is long term in today's game?
I think the game we watch these days is far more about the here and now, because of the managerial merry go round.
I personally don't long term is a thing anymore.
That's a fair cop.I'd disagree on that.
Progressive clubs will have long term planning.
I think any manager needs to be building long term. It's probably not in Moyes' interest to do so to be fair, I get that, but that's why clubs need to get it right.
So for every Grealish, Soucek, McGinn type we go after - we need to be signing, and developing a few players for the future.
Because if we don't, we're building on quick sand.
We should be enjoying the heights of 8th right now, but reality is - we're a sneeze from bottom half too. If that happens, it would be more tolerable if we had seen some development/progress in the players which contributed to a club record spend. Aznou, Travers, Dibling, Rohl and Barry are starting to worry me - but then, long term needs to be exactly that, maybe they will come good.
To an extent its all overblown. Players can actually be improved later as well and turned into full internationals. It brings up the question of what a young player is. Is 23 young or should Moyes only be judged on the number of 17-19 year olds he plays in the Prem?
Pretty good record that. Better points per game is quite impressive, especially considering some of the complaining.
Hello chum, would you say you backed the Everton Manager that took over a relegation haunted club and produced this in his first year?I don't think anyone begrudged him of that move.
