Still only 3 points off fifth.
I said it earlier, beyond weird to put a CM on the wing while the score is 1-1.The thing I would really second guess is going ahead with the subs he was going to make before Bournemouth equalized, after they equalized. That would have been a good reason to stop and have a rethink.
Otherwise… if Barry misses a sitter that’s Barry’s fault. If O’Brien does something stupid and gets sent off that’s O’Brien’s fault. The players can be at blame too.
Very winnable right???? Lucky if we get anything against Burnley or Sunderland plus the restBurley and Bournemouth are both very winnable as is Sunderland (seeing as they've failed to beat us in open play twice this season) and I'd not be surprised to see us get a result for one of the others. Mau td are legitimately dreadful and I've seen worse Everton teams beat better RS teams. Plenty still to play for at home imo mate.
Mogged by Iraola 2nd half.
If its down to not playing attacking football due to the full backs - which it isn't- then play Patterson and Aznou there, or he should have made sure he got a right back in, if that's whats stopping him playing attacking football. But it's not a full back issue it's a container, 'make sure you're in position in case the attack breaks down'. Moyes has always been rhe same. He hopes something will hapown rather than construct a team that can make things happen. Aznou, Dibling, Alcaraz, Iregbonam are attacking players but don't seem to be trusted. Moyes has also picked up the worst habits of not putting enough players in the box so as to cross more. Our players seem to need 4 or 5 touches of the ball or run towards another of our players and then pass. Whereas other teams just pass and move through us at home and create chances. Away from home containment has generally worked for us but also we got beat at city and Chelsea2 nil, without laying a glove on them and at a poor off team 2-1.Don't think it's a containment strategy at home. If anything we probably need more of a focus on containment because we're not going to beat teams with great attacking football due to the two duds we've got at full back.
Probably help us playing against better teams in the remaining games as we'll adopt the tactics that have served us well away from home.
It's weird because Moyes has managed Iroegbunam well this season.Aznou is the only one that hasnt really got an opportunity...the rest have been disappointing for the most part despite having had few opportunities.
Well said….We don't have brilliant players but we have enough available players right now to pick a competitive balanced team. Every game there is at least 1 or 2 selections by DM that leave the team badly set up and unbalanced
You can get away with it more if you are sat back deep away from home trying to soak up pressure. But when you have the ball more at home, you need the team to be well balanced as well as structured. Average teams can come to our stadium and win without being at their best. It's not good enough and there's no excuse to make the same tactical errors over and over.
Moyes is a good manager but he always leaves you frustrated. He just can't take that next step when you feel it's right in front of you.
Fullbacks that played for moyes are usually big physical players, with the exception of baines. Aznou has no chance really because he is nowhere near baines level of ability. It doesn't mean moyes is a bad manager, just that he has fundamentals in his teams, going for big physical player before ability.I would argue Dibling still hasn't actually been given proper chance but Aznou is crazy, how many times has Myko been in good positions in the final third and sky hooked a cross straight for the keeper to catch. Aznou who's much more dangerous in the final third has featured zero times in the prem this season, wtf is Moyes thinking there, actually ridiculous. You're telling me you can't just give him 10 mins when we're down a goal or two, absolute joke
I’m sorry but don’t you think having Jarrad and Jake at CB and Paterson at RB would have been better?Have to say, both goals I put on the players. Nothing tactical about it, lazy defending from Ndiaye and Mykolenko on the first. Tarkowski 5 yards behind his man on the set piece. Other things could have been changed, but the goals were just poor from the players involved.
The stadium is too much for Moyes to handle.
He's intimidated by it.

All I ask is he tries something different at home as it's a chore going there at the moment.
Alcaraz had a horrible game just before getting injured, so rightly dropped. Rohl is incredibly inconsistent, mostly bad, sometimes OK.Dibling yes.
But Rohl and Alcaraz get any momentum, they get dropped.
Nice positive words by Moyes today.
Deffo wanting a new contract and right now on balance the guy deserves one.
(I’ll get me tin hat on quick! )
