Yes, club still getting out of one helluva FFP pickle.
HORRIBLE.
It’s a season full of promise!Tune in from 2:30 he always seems to need to go for a nervous Turkish delight before he goes in front of the journos.
Hopefully the media team will have the mics on in time for his bantz with the assembled press corps for once.

Yea was gobsmacked at the R word being the first thing he said. Unbelievable, but not surprising. I also find all this talk about him letting off the handbrake when we get to 40 points. Never done that before imo. Let’s see if he doesLine from The Athletic today post Fulham…..
“Hugely important (win),” Moyes noted. “It probably keeps us away from the big ‘r’ word at the bottom. The idea now is to push on.”
More uplifting words of optimism from the Moysiah……
Good job he’s not one for damping down the aspirations of the fan base.

It's more supporters who continue to mock the impatient pissy pants fans who are holding a grudge from over ten years ago and refuse to admit that Moyes is actually doing a good job because his name is David Moyes and they're still fuming that he put a bid in for Baines and Fellaini and left us for Man United. It’s weird this thread. Supporters who won’t hear any bad word said against Moyes & believe we can’t change him at any point because we will mess it up & get relegated (as though Mosh & Uncle Bill are still running the show) against the polar opposite arguing he should go now highlighting the various deficiencies they see.
The reality is he is doing a very good job to get us to where we are now after the recent seasons issues.
It is also a reality that he isn’t a top elite manager although highly competent & experienced in the premier league.
It also a reality that he isn’t immortal. You can’t wheel him into the changing room in his eighties telling the team to keep it tight
The question should be at what point it maybe appropriate to change & if that decision is made then who.
Clearly the first pinchpoint is this summer when Moyes probably either needs his contract extending or a new manager appointing. I assume TFG would be giving this some thought, especially in the knowledge that there will be a number of high achieving managers out of contract this summer who potentially won’t be available thereafter.
Considerations could be the extent of TFG’s short/medium term ambitions, where we are at the end of the season, what Moyes may want & if any high profile manager may be interested in joining & what players if any they may attract.
I don’t think posters pointing out his merits or deficiencies is going to be a significant factor so it would seem pointless to continue going around in circles arguing about them, although some people may find it entertaining to do so!![]()
There's plenty who wouldn't have taken it if you'd have told them the man behind it is David Moyes. Some fans have very short memories in here. Imagine going back to late 2024 and being told in less than 18 months we would be in the top 8 and looking at qualifying for europe? Every single one of us would've happily taken that.
Is he capable of the next level? Not really, we know that. But he isn't here for long term, he was brought in to stablise us and build a platform for someone else to take over when we aren't a complete basket case.
Don't even think this is the anti-Moyes brigade, more so that people have been saying he's always been negative and will always be and apparently were wrong, whereas he's still saying "we might be relegated here lads, vital points to survive" while this is the league table at the time of him saying that:I highly respect all opinions, but the anti-Moyes brigade is a bunch of sad bores.
They prefer 'Look. LOOK. He said relegation'That's what he said after the game:
“I don’t want to come in here and say we’re trying to avoid relegation. I don’t want to do that because Everton have had too much bad news and bad publicity, so I’d rather come in here and say we’re having a go at Europe.
“You might laugh at me in a few weeks’ time and say, ‘How stupid was I’, but I’d rather be positive and try to make the players know that is what I want. They do know, they know as well and they are well aware that we’d like to do that.”

Are you happy with the results so far? God forbid an ounce of actual positivity is shown without first bringing down the mood for no reason. Considering the age we're in and the fact we allegedly have PRs, maybe they should've talked to him or something?
I'm not in the Moyes out camp at all but would prefer it if we stop this "it's as best as we can do" nonsense honestly. We knew his limitations when he came here and it's 100% okay to criticise things like the home form, the cup exits (as expected sadly), some baffling team selections/subs (or lack of), forfeiting at least 45 min a game for the last 3 months, keeping with the knife to a gunfight talk in the press, etc., as well as say he's done a wholly fantastic job to keep us at a better level than we were before (which was, again, expected and wholeheartedly welcomed I think, as he is a good manager).
Plus, it's always the fans who are wrong.
