2025/26 David Moyes

It’s weird this thread. Supporters who won’t hear any bad word said against Moyes & believe we can’t change him at any point because we will mess it up & get relegated (as though Mosh & Uncle Bill are still running the show) against the polar opposite arguing he should go now highlighting the various deficiencies they see.

The reality is he is doing a very good job to get us to where we are now after the recent seasons issues.
It is also a reality that he isn’t a top elite manager although highly competent & experienced in the premier league.
It also a reality that he isn’t immortal. You can’t wheel him into the changing room in his eighties telling the team to keep it tight 🙂

The question should be at what point it maybe appropriate to change & if that decision is made then who.

Clearly the first pinchpoint is this summer when Moyes probably either needs his contract extending or a new manager appointing. I assume TFG would be giving this some thought, especially in the knowledge that there will be a number of high achieving managers out of contract this summer who potentially won’t be available thereafter.

Considerations could be the extent of TFG’s short/medium term ambitions, where we are at the end of the season, what Moyes may want & if any high profile manager may be interested in joining & what players if any they may attract.

I don’t think posters pointing out his merits or deficiencies is going to be a significant factor so it would seem pointless to continue going around in circles arguing about them, although some people may find it entertaining to do so! 🙂

Hi guys can we please ignore this clear headed entirely reasonable summary of the David Moyes position at Everton and just continue scrapping for our entertainment in here please.

I’ve sometimes been a slightly harsh critic of the posters in here but I want to take this moment to compliment your feuding this weekend. Your absolute veracity for feuding and pettiness will make this forum great again.

Well done and up the cherries.

I’m still going to complain if he pick’s Gueye & Keane until he stops doing it. 😀

The past shows that Moyes will win nothing for us. We need to move forward away from him.
The past shows that he had round £1 million pounds net spend per season if I remember correctly.
Name one other manager who won things on that.
Disagree 100% with you. He is doing a great job , and moving us away from the disastrous recent past.

The fact that winning something is even a consideration is 100% down to Moyes. You should be down on your knees begging for his forgiveness you ungrateful wretch.
