Mykolenko is good at defending. He’s solid, not much gets passed him and you can see that when he’s had good games against Saka and Salah where the haven’t got much change out of him. BUT

He offers so little in any other regard that a team that wants to be more than backs against the wall defending for your life he needs upgrading. He was really poor Monday but not defensively

spot on mate. I am wondering though if we would entertain bids for him this window otherwise he walks for free in the summer. If only we had time to bring in a new left back .................or play Aznou hahaha. Now with Branthwaite back and Grealish out Moyes might be more tempted to play 3-5-2.
But it needs us signing a right wing back and similar on the left / play Aznou.

Ive said it before i think he’s solid when he’s basically doing a man to man on someone but other than that im not sure he’s aware enough to be considered ‘good’ at defending .

I'm guessing Myko injured and Aznou maybe going out on loan?

Would be crap luck for them both to get injured, but I doubt Moyes would have played Aznou at left back anyway

Gana limped about for us in midfield too - the young left back & Patterson should have started yesterday - ideal opportunity with our left back injured ?
