2025/26 David Moyes

Depends - I suspect you’ll have to scrape him off the sideline!
Moyes is doing his remit of stabilising the club results wise but the fact he has the final say on transfers is not conducive to our long term health as he is looking at the short term narrative whilst the Friedkins are seemingly looking at the longer term picture so there seems a conflict between 2 different strategies hence why we have a lack of transfer activity and why Moyes is reluctant to blood Aznou and Dibling despite them both having a future at the club whilst Mykolenko and McNeil don't if we want to move forward as a club.

Ancelotti doesn't do youth players (Gordon for example) He'd want to buy big name players regardless of age and saddle us with a crippling wage bill. Then he'll flounce off if things don't go to plan leaving us up the creek without a paddle whilst our sycophants wax lyrical about him calling him Don Carlo. I really don't see the appeal
In fairness he flounced off to the biggest club in the world that he already had a strong relationship with. I'm inclined to believe him when he says that's the only club he'd leave for.
Of the sixteen I mentioned, only Armstrong and Dibling are very young but both have plenty of experience to be part of one of his squads.
As for big name players, I absolutely loved watching James play for Everton, that's what it's all about. Not another 3 seasons of Moyes stabilizing the club.
I'm not Moyes out like West Ham fans were, I just think we can do better.

Didn’t Ancelotti make Tom Davies captain?

I agree we should be looking to do better as it feels a bit stale with Moyes in charge but as you say I'm the same as I'm not actively saying sack him but more look to a new more dynamic manager come the summer. As for Carlo he clearly had you under his spell but I'm not so sure I believe him when he said only Real would of tempted him as he also criticised the very same club for trying to breakaway into that European Super League farce so he changes his moral stance at the drop of a hat seemingly. But anyway I still say he wasn't and isn't the right fit for a club looking to develop with younger players

But we are reasonably ahead of where we were at this point over the last few seasons. Playing style not great but there is clear progress happening. We are building.
If we had not wasted over £100m in the summer window buying inept players and concentrated on a quality Full back and a competent Striker to put the ball in the net, we would be pushing for top 4. Looking back on games we should have won and the points dropped have cost us dear.

Yes there’s no way he should have full control in the summer with a year left on his deal, he will be pushing for signing grealish, Bowen, matty cash and Robinson for full backs and probably a 30yr old in midfield

Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Carlo back after the WC.

Highly experienced and knows the league, which we know they like from their Roma appointments.

Tactically adaptable - can play counter-attacking or on the front-foot. Would be a good bet to sort out the lousy home form, while not sacrificing the excellent away record.

Good draw for players.

Is available in the summer, and was making cooing noises in our direction not so long ago.

Not a long-term appointment, but then neither is Moyesy.
