New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Said it before and I'm gonna say it again. The answer to the silence is a singing section. The atmosphere has been rotten at Goodison for years so lets not pretend that this season is something completely out of the ordinary. In reality its no worse then most Goodison games of the last five to ten years. It just feels worse because we're in totally new surroundings and all the lads who previously spent all game yelling have stopped because many of them aren't near the lads who always tolerated and even embraced it. We truly should've sorted a singing section this season, it was the perfect opportunity but we ballsed it up. Now is the time to do the reset. Do it now and set it up for 26-27. Once you get a section of people solidly making noise, more will come organically.
Will you be buying a season ticket in this singing section, how much do you think it will cost ?

I agree that he's not and will never be a winner. But I didn't know that as much back then. I had optimism in 04-05, and between 6-7, 7-8, 8-9 I really felt like he was on to something. He even kinda won more over again a little bit at times in 11-12 and 12-13 but I acknowledge that I'm possibly more easily pleased then most.
Nah, I can understand why you thought that. He was a massive improvement over every manager since Joe Royle in terms of what he did for a poverty-stricken (i.e., Kenwright-controlled) Everton. I lost patience after the Reading cup disaster in 2010. The 2012 semi-final was merely final evidence that this fella would never get over the line for us...even if he put us in position to do so. That's the great tragedy of Moyes. He's a very competent manager. But he is cautious to the point of self-sabotage.

Ha ha, the same Moyes who’s won more than Martinez.
That's debatable, actually. Martinez's Wigan cup win is a far greater triumph than the tin pot cup Moyes eventually won at West Ham. Moyes is the better manager - no question - but the fact that a charlatan like Martinez actually has the bigger, more prestigious pot to his name tells you Moyes underachieves vis-a-vis the positions he puts his sides into. He puts his teams in positions to win (as he did with us from 2008 to 2012) but then finds a way to fall over (Fiorentina, Reading, Wigan...). Not a winner.

There comes a point where £70 to watch Everton get battered by Brentford no longer becomes value for money.

Especially with the membership also. I’ve been pushing my Dad and brother to get one so they could join me at a game but the membership plus ticket price in one go is £130. Combine that with knowing full well you could pay that and it’s another Spurs Newcastle Brentford then it’s no wonder some might hesitate.

We’ve consistently been close to the lowest scorers in the league. We hardly win any big games, we hardly win any derbies, we hardly ever have a cup run. The Everton board have seemingly worked a miracle over recent years of pedalling a proposition that is decreasing in quality every year but going up in price and yet has seen demand for it boom. That simply will not continue, something has to give. Either the team significantly improves, ticket prices go down, or attendances will. The middle one is only to happen so they need to get improving the team.

Yeah but other than that haha!

I'm travelling to my first game in years next week. Any recommendations for good boozers in the city centre for Saturday evening? I'll try some of the ones near the stadium on Sunday & Monday. Staying in Titanic those nights. Might stay more central on Saturday.

Think Moyes had pretty much a zero net spend over his entire tenure. He gifted Martinez a very solid side that had qualified for Europe several times, but with the added benefit of a Lukaku..... a real luxury that was rarely afforded to Moyes during his entire time. However, despite this, within 2 seasons, the cracks were already appearing.

Denbigh Castle is a Blue pub and surrounded by several other pubs within staggering distance. :pint2:
