January Transfer Window 2026

Sick of hearing "wont be fixed in one window "
Someone needs to tell Moyes & his recruitment team this window has been open for over a week now.

Or does it apply just to summer windows ? Cant wait for that , it'll be very difficult to sign players because of the World Cup.
Really poor planning from the club....again.
Which players have moved that we should have bought so far? As repeated ad nauseum during the summer, we can’t magically make the players we want become available at a price that we find acceptable. I don’t think planning comes into it.

The thing i can’t fathom is that with the “dithering dave” accusations that go round (sometimes too easily), you would think that he would be all over filling the loan spots with players where we have an option to buy at the end or obligation if certain conditions are met. That way he has 6 months to see them every day and make his mind up on their ability and character.

I can’t believe that the January market is such that we can’t bring in a RB, LB and Striker on loan til the end of the season with options/obligations and if they don’t work out then at least we have had a few more for numbers instead of having Welch, Campbell etc on the bench that stand no chance of coming on.

These players do exist somewhere for our recruitment team to find like other clubs have and with the loan spots being vacant, it’s a low risk option surely.

Really ???
Planning comings into everything.

Summer was a mishmash with no recruitment team in .
Now theve been in for months do you think they get paid for not having a plan.

The deficiencies are glaring and need addressing pronto , no PSR worries like previous seasons.
If there isnt a "plan" we may as well just roll over like we have been doing.

When we have everyone fit and we beat another team there'll be fans on their forums looking at Branthwaite and Ndiaye and saying the same thing.

Grass is always greener when you're comparing 19 other team's gems to your own. There are so many things I'd like to change about our recruitment but we are not at the point where we should be looking jealously at Wolves lol
I couldnt believe when I looked at the back of the Brentford program where it lists the squads that they had 11 more players in their squad than us. 11 players including injured and AFCON players. Our list didnt include Branthwaite but still that makes it 10.Also couldnt believe they had 1 extra goalie than us too 😅
But seriously how do we have a squad so much smaller than Brentford and if so how can we compete? Maybe they include U21s or something but its baffling 10 players.

Realistically, one solid signing would appease the fans and improve the team. It would also lighten the burden on another summer overhaul.

We are genuinely only two or three players away from having a team that can fight for europe.

If we can sign a pair of fullbacks and keep Ndiaye and Grealish our flanks start to look really good - problem is will we re-sign Jack and will Ndiaye be sold in the summer? Back to square one if so.

We can plan to buy x, y or z but if the player doesn't want to come or the club that owns him doesn't want to sell him for a price that we find acceptable that isn't really a failure of planning is it?

That suggests that the players we want are so niche so as to be almost non existent. I made the point previously, we seem to have only one target for a role and if can't get them, we cross our arms and say we're done, at least we tried.
Are we incapable of developing players? A cheaper option with the ability to progress. Although I suspect we all know the answer to that.
The manager seems to have been caught off guard by a number of injuries occurring over the annual busy period and a tournament that has been scheduled for years.
He then compounds that by saying its more unlikely than not we won't be signing anyone.

Fully agree. Two competent PL level full backs solidifies this team as an upper table challenging team and with O'Brien, Aznou and Mykolenko we have cover if absolutely needed. If we did that this January I'd fall off my chair in astonishment.

I think Ndiaye is absolutely crucial to keep. I'd like to keep Grealish too but that will be what it will be.

Well, we do operate in a specific market. How many players in world wide football do you think are capable of playing right back in the premier league to a level which makes them worth buying?
