2025/26 David Moyes

Missing our 5 best outfield players. I still reckon we have the worst fullback options in the league as well.

Not gonna say I'm ecstatic with how we're doing this season, but it really could have been much worse.

Outside chance of Conference League and a good FA Cup run is the absolute best we can hope for imo.

£110M he spent this summer to play like that and have us bottom half again.

Excuse this feller all you want but he's never going to progress us.
Maybe you didnt notice but we were missing all our creative players and goal threat. Particularly Niadye and KDH.
Not sure what you expect? I would take a mid table finish. Perhaps we should look for the next Lampard or Potter? No thanks lad

Its the same most weeks in terms of keeping posession over attacking and creating movement and patterns of attacking play.

Today with 10mins to go Moyes went for the draw.
I'm fine complaining about it most weeks but today is not most weeks, and neither is Forest on Tuesday. You can argue he should've got these 2nd stringer up to speed or match fit before this run but now it's here it's pure batton down the hatches. Half our starting XI was out today.

I’m not hammering Moyes. I think he’s doing an ok job, and I thought he did an exceptional job first time round.

I’m calling out the hypocrites who slammed Dyche going on like they were the standard bearers for NSNO but now are rolling out all the same excuses that they refused to accept under Dyche.
Presumably those who hammered Dyche weren’t doing so over 1 game and it was a long term thing for them?

As said, I think given the context of the time Dyche do a decent job, Moyes was exceptional, so do you think there’s a possibility that that is why he’s afforded a little more latitude?

I swear I saw quite a few people acting like he would sweep this stretch and people would start glazing him again. Now that he loses the PR team comes out. To me, it is less about this year and more about the next. He is not the guy going forward for me. He would have to prove A LOT by years end.

Not sure what else he can prove to be honest? You've watched his teams for over a decade. You know the man. What can he prove?

He was the best man at the time for what we needed.

Same as his previous tenure he has his favourites (we don't know what goes on in training etc) but if Grealish or KDH could play you know he would have put McNeil in over Dibling.

I hope our new overlords are playing a blinder with his 18 month rolling(?) contract and have someone in mind who will be able to utilise the squad long term and sanction more efficient signings instead of getting a past it Coleman on another contract.

He's always had a glass ceiling, his away record at "top" teams shows that (I know we beat a terrible United team the other month).

Hopefully Glasner will be brought in end of season and Moyes will get a happy farewell.

Yeah. The hypocrisy is real. I was very critical of Dyche. I am very critical of Moyes. Both have not impressed with their decisions and it's hilarious the excuses that are popping out now. There is a silly amount of bias.
I've been pilloried for suggesting that there are double standards in this forum, so I hope you've got your tin hat on! But you're absolutely correct, some of Dyche's fiercest critics, who certainly wouldn't have accepted injuries as an excuse for poor performances under Dyche, are amongst the most fawning of defenders of Moyes.

Moyes suggesting that that was Burnley's strongest side was laughable, and entirely consistent with his self-serving narratives. A patched up Burnley were the better team out there today, particularly in the second half, and Moyes had no answer for it. He plays the same tactics no matter what is going on on the pitch, with the opposition, or with absences in the squad. We are down to bare bones, I accept that, and in actuality I'm not too disappointed with a point today but if Moyes is a top manager, which I'm told regularly on here that he is, then it's this exact scenario when he should show that.
