He isn't really what we need but no doubt it will be a popular shout with fans.Would take mainoo On a loan to buy if chap based upon the fact it’s nailed on he’s good wherever he goes and a laugh at Man Utd situation
Were they 20 goals in a season ? I think Sharp got 20+ the year before Lineker. Regardless it is a small number !Are we missing out Sharp?
The Yak was quite handy, as was Andy Johnson
I disagree. We don't really have a midfielder who can retain possession and keep things ticking for us like he does. It would be a good option in comparison to the engines and ball carriers we have in CM. Moving forward we would need a different profile to Mainoo replace Gana but it's a decent stop gap for 6 months to fill a hole in midfield. He isn't really what we need but no doubt it will be a popular shout with fans.
No more sticking plasters, it gets us nowhere. If he didn't play for United nobody would bat an eyelid at him imo, nothing special about him for me.I disagree. Maybe is still rated in italy as was a target last seasonBeto isn’t good enough for Roma
He scored 17 in 30 in the prem for Blackburn a few years later. Such a shame. We finally sign a genuinely top class forward and he gets a career changing injury after one season. Everton that. The Yak got 20 in his first season. Got injured early-ish the following season and he was never the same after that.
No they say the same things we used to say, he can't dribble, he has average pace, his touch is inconsistent, his passing is sloppy and he's just generally very ordinary.
He's not as awful as the Spurs fans say but our fans have rose tinted spectacles with him. I remember we used to complain about his limitations and how for a Brazilian he was lacking the typical technique and flair they have (not to mention his lack of pace and dribbling ability) He appealed to us as his passion shone through and he was a beacon of light in some very grim days but I always felt if we got good money for him we'd be doing well to sell himHe has a knack of getting around 10 goals a season but hardly ever assists
Slows down play and loses the ball very easily
I wouldn’t want him back tbh
Grim Days? The only season that was truly bleak was his last one with Everton where we finished 16th otherwise we finished 8th, 12th and 10th. He's a classic Brazilian finesse player who possessed exquisite skills on the ball , also to state he's turgid is baffling , have you ever watched him play while he was here or even at Spurs? Or do you just let other people provide their accounts? I'm not saying he was elanga swift but he has pace and was excellent on a break. He can be a pretty clinical player in the air too. My only concern would be his injury history. I don't appreciate you besmirching one of our better players in recent years if you're not fond of him that's fine but don't spout nonsenseHe's not as awful as the Spurs fans say but our fans have rose tinted spectacles with him. They weren't great days Curtis as we were spending money with the ambition to qualify for the 'champions' league and we failed badly hence the high turnover of managers. As for Richarlison yes I've seen him play and as an other poster commented he slowed the game too much and was guilty of giving the ball away too much. I'm not sure I'd describe him as a finesse player either. My argument is for the money he'd cost us I'd prefer someone who is better than someone who has shown to not be at the level where we want to get too and I'm not a fan of expensive stop gap signingsGrim Days?
