I think we are lucky that there are 3 worse teams this season. Leeds, Burnley and Wolves. Had it not been for them we would be in a big relegation scrap
The fact this thread is back is beyond a disgrace
Beat Man Utd and let's try and get into Europe, lose to Newcastle and its ohh no we're in a relegation scrap againIt just shows what a bunch of babies we have following us, so reactive and weak.
In the premier league you often do spend £100m to stand still. That's one of the issues with PSR. If we really wanted to improve the squad to a point where we were 10 to 12 points better off a season, we may need to spend £300m, not £100m.
We have got slightly better quality footballers than we had in the 23/24 season, in certain positions (Grealish instead of Harrison, KDH instead of Doucoure). But there are still fundamental issues with the fullbacks and strikers and certain areas, like defensive midfield, where we look light if 1 player is missing.
I would also say that Ashley Young was one of our better Fullbacks and we have not replaced him and
Only just, which doesn't say too much for either tbhOnana was a better CM than Irogbunam
Scrapped past Man U and taken apart by Newcastle.Beat Man Utd and let's try and get into Europe, lose to Newcastle and its ohh no we're in a relegation scrap again
We'll not be relegated - not a chance given the dross below us. However, lose tomorrow and again to Forest and this thread has a second wind as we will be dragged into the conversation - if not the actual relegation zone.
Wouldn't say we were taken apart by Newcastle.....it was a self inflicted defeat. We beat ourselves with conceded goals that otherwise should have been easy to deal withScrapped past Man U and taken apart by Newcastle.
No I mean the fans after beating Man U are yes let's push on for Europe and then we lose the next game and we're doomed for a relegation scrap against the mighty Wolves, Burnley and LeedsScrapped past Man U and taken apart by Newcastle.
Yes, exactly. It’s mathematically impossible for us to be in the relegation zone after the next two games.
what questions? and who are you asking them to?
I’d expect the Friedkins would be asking them to Kinnear. Questions like:
Considering we’ve invested 100 million plus for no tangible improvement, what assurances can you give that any more money we give you will lead to improvement?
Why did previous squads of lower quality players and a lower quality manager get the same amount of points as this squad?
Why did you spend money on players like Aznou Alcaraz Dibling who the manager doesn’t play, and 30 mill on a forward who has taken half a season to get upto speed?
They’re the type of questions that get asked if we finish below a mid 50s target in my opinion.
I’ll be disappointed with 50 as a max limit. The squad in 23/24 is much worse than this one and got 48 points amidst the issues of two points deductions and failed takeovers.
If we’ve poured over 100 mill in it should be targeting mid 50s as a par performance for me.
Grealish Ndiaye Dewsbury Hall Dibling Alcaraz Rohl are all much better options than anything we had in 23/24.
