2025/26 Thierno Barry

We'd need strikers that can take 5 defenders with zero support, 30 yards from goal.

With our full backs being so bad it does put more onus on our attacking players to do something special. Barry isn't capable of that unfortunately. Not so much what you're saying. Just the drop of a shoulder and being able to beat a man or getting a decent shot off would help.

Vardy tor free on a ONE season contract AND then not leave it last minute till end of next summer window to panic buy like this club always seems to do. Club never seems to plan ahead and buy early.
Vardy would be on zero goals and we would be moaning about spending money on a near 40 year old striker.

We got Barry in fairly early this season, for some reason he barely played in pre season.

The shouts for old strikers is a bit tres bizarre. The club have clearly made a point of leaning towards younger signings with a view of developing them and playing towards a longer term strategy. We were never going to be offering the likes of Vardy or Wilson short term deals at £6/7/8m quid a pop.

How is Barry supposed create chances himself when the only time he gets the ball is a lay off 20 yards away from the box? Is he expected to take the ball off of Jack and beat five defenders to shoot on goal?

Did you see dewsbury hall goal at united? That was 20 yards outside the box.
He dropped his shoulder, turned and still beat 3 united players to score. Its a part of the game away from putting it on a plate.

Barry helped pull those defenders, so kdh wasn't alone, plus we've relied on hail mary's far too much the past few seasons.

What you think 20 yards from the box is outside of the strikers no go zone lol
What are you talking about.
No
I'm thinking that if the striker is 20 yards outside the box then the defence is also able to move up, whereas when a striker is keeping some of the defenders' focus then the chance for an AM to get a shot away is higher.

I'd be more interested in Barry getting tap ins than hoping for screamers like KDHs at OT

The point being made was its impossible for a player to do anything off his own back. It isnt. You see it week in week out. Doesnt always end up in the net but ideally you want that mixture of not being completely reliant of it having to be put on a plate.
