6 + 2 Point Deductions

Thanks.for posting this.

Lookiing at your chart here...Whats the point of this rule? Are they saying Brenford could now spend 100m on players and ruin their wage structure and destroy their business if they want to?
What does this change except that now youre allowed to lose more than 105m over 3 years?

I’d take those figures with a pinch of salt mate, based on last published ac lungs and wage bill.

The agenda here was two factored in my opinion. 1. To put a cap on what City and Newcastle can spend and 2. Ensure PL clubs can continue to spend so they can continue to improve and sell the product.

I think the only reason PSR was scrapped is that it stoped teams spending which in turn meant the “product” was diluted which lessons its value.

What happened today is they’ve tied the state owned clubs into a capped no, while given everyone else scope to invest more, so they can continue to sell TV right fir the PL home and abroad.

BBC are reporting, that its not the total wage bill taken into account as part of the ratio rather players (not sure just first team or all levels) and manager wages, transfer fees (presumably amortised) and agent fees, which is significant as our total wage bill was just shy of £160 mill in the last accounts.

Whatever rules would have come in is unfortunate but they will always have an advantage. Is about us being the best of the rest try catch up to the group of newcastle villa
Yeah thats why i started watching football 30 odd years ago. Im just happy to compete for 7th place its what its all about...

One big upside I think now is we will probably see a lotttt of investment in academies, because off-field things like that are no longer included in the calculations. So you can throw as much money at that as you want, and you win doubly if it produces premier-league level players.

I imagine that will be fairly widespread, but you'd expect we might focus there particularly now that the other big option for off-field spending is largely finished in the stadium.

Women's teams might see a big boost for the same reasons too.

Green threshold, red threshold. Just have a limit that you can't go over ffs. Another typically obtuse rule from the powers that be. Designed to favour their beloved cash cows?
If there is going to be spending rules in place then I cant see any way to implement these rules (whatever they may be) that doesn't favor the cash cow clubs.

We need to stop whinging imo. We have one of the better grounds in the country, it’s already been used for a rugby league match and has five Euro 28 games booked in the calendar. There will no doubt be more opportunities.

Kenwright’s 20 year long self-preservation strategy of pretending we our Wigan Athletic in disguise has been terminated! We all know that Everton were one of the big five that effectively created the PL, and we’re on our way back to being closer to that level than being Wigan Athletic in disguise!

Stop whinging and realise that we are one of the big boys!

No we shouldn't stop whinging, we were absolutely bummed by the PL, and the second the PL let one of the big boys away with similar transgressions we should be right on top of it demanding compensation, points back, apologies what they did to us shouldn't be forgotten, infact we are still fighting this with Burnleys case against us. Whinging and making noise about things going against you is a tried and tested way of making it stop, If we just blindly accept things we'll keep getting hammered.

The reason that Burnley have a case is because the PL failed to give us a bumming that would have buried us. It’s Burnley that have something to whinge about, not us.

There’s nothing to whinge about. Gaining an advantage via revenue is nothing new in football, and we are in a very strong position to take advantage of that.

We’ve also sold the women’s team before it became prohibited, and if they’re now a separate entity, then we can sell them Goodison as well. There’s no way we’d be prevented from selling a PL level football ground to another football club imo.

still can catch them like other clubs hsve done but is massively important we get the club structure right. What i meant is never really going to catch them in terms of generating money off the pitch.
