6 + 2 Point Deductions

The reason that Burnley have a case is because the PL failed to give us a bumming that would have buried us. It’s Burnley that have something to whinge about, not us.

There’s nothing to whinge about. Gaining an advantage via revenue is nothing new in football, and we are in a very strong position to take advantage of that.

We’ve also sold the women’s team before it became prohibited, and if they’re now a separate entity, then we can sell them Goodison as well. There’s no way we’d be prevented from selling a PL level football ground to another football club imo.
So the PL not taking action against their favorite super massive awesome fantastic fabulous cash cow teams but hammering us is not something to whinge about? Manchester United were allowed to write off standard business expenses to the exact amount they were over PSR yet we should have anticipated a war in Ukraine, Manchester City have made a mockery of the rules and in my opinion wont get punished in the way we did, I'll give up whinging when the rules are applied in the same way to everybody.

still can catch them like other clubs hsve done but is massively important we get the club structure right. What i meant is never really going to catch them in terms of generating money off the pitch.
Its just wrong though isnt it. A fair competition is one where all the teams involved have the same rules. Why cant they do reverse anchoring so that whatever the team who finished top the previous season earned any club can spend up to that amount

I don't think that's the answer. The problem is clubs can now buy from anywhere in the world so they can create Harlem Globetrotters sides. I think a better way would having restrictions on overseas players in the first eleven. Say 5 foreign players max in the team, 2 local youth players who've come through your system since the start and the other 4 players have to be the nationality of the league they play in. This way you'll get clubs having to actually develop players instead of just buying success and teams will have a semblance of identity too. I await the brexit derogatory quips about my suggestion

The issue is that the teams like chelsea and city will just sign all the young players and do that instead. But it is a good idea.

Teams dont have identities anymore. If you are supporting a premier league team you are generally supporting a franchise of players and coach who have been formed together who have barely heard of the team they are representing

It's not a full proof plan but you'll never get a system that is. I agree with your assessment in your second paragraph and its something that is a problem with football now where its too easy for clubs to forget their heritage and their roots

Very true. And with the likes of Chelsea how many of those young players that they sign realistically think they will ever actually don the shirt and establish themselves in the first team.

If anything, 95% will never get anywhere near the first team but agents/players will simply use the Chelsea connection to eventually try and advance their careers elsewhere whilst filling their bank accounts and that of Chelsea's who seldom sell players of any level for less than they outlaid initially. It's a business model which Chelsea, especially, have exploited well.

same when you look at the championship under the prem, teams now just want to have the advantage is why will never want fair rules.
