2025/26 Dwight McNeil

I do feel sorry for Dwight in some ways, and I don’t in others

Important player the last couple seasons to getting no minutes at all.

Do think he should have a better attitude regardless. Do also think he should also have been given more minutes.

The biggest issue for me is that if we take an injury to Grealish or Illy we have Dibbling and McNeil to come on, neither given any minutes really, so are massively under cooked - I personally don’t think either are good enough but you have to have them ready and interested if needed..
Absolutely to this.

Regardless of whether he was one of our most "creative" players (I actually baulk at this suggestion) in seasons gone by he should acknowledge that he is below Grealish and Ndiyae now and be ready to come in and perform.

But his appearances this year have been woeful, and I mean woeful

Looks miles off the pace

How on earth Moyes picked him to come on last night based on the evidence of his performances this year is totally baffling

Me trying to get on with my day but getting constantly jump scared by memories of that substitution

18 months left on his deal, extremely limited minutes, dropped to the u23 squad and played awful, then was somehow rewarded with being put on ahead of Dibling last week, and correctly overlooked yesterday.

Will there be any takers in January? He's hardly the player relegation-threatened clubs to look to and think "He's the one to help get us over the line this season", while he clearly won't accept a salary cut to drop down a division to his correct standard.

Maybe if some Championship club comes in with £4-5 million, Everton could pay a percentage of his salary for the next 18 months (ie. offer a reduction in fee to cover this) and we'll end up with about £3 million for him.

Could we be lucky enough to get £7-10 million for Beto?

Obviously we have no further sellable assets (aside from those the fans wouldn't want sold) — Patterson is perma-injured and nobody is looking at him,

Mykolenko should be the next one we look to ship out, particularly with 7 months left on his contract, but knowing Everton they'll offer him a three-year extension in January.

Basically, desperately try to sell Beto and McNeil in January and add these funds to whatever we already have and go get a quality striker — we need one anyway as 1. Barry is awful and 2. We need more than one striker.

I have a feeling he will come back this season. Has been our best player before we got ndiaye in term of numbers (goals/assists), and was crucial to our survival in the pl...the only thing is moyes has to realise that he can only play on the left or at a push behind the striker, never on the right. He is easily worth 20 millions because of his age, years of experience in the pl, and has been crucial before. Yes he is not in great form right now, but thats football...look at keane...our best cb today by some distance.

No chance. And nobody is paying £20 million for him either. Nobody plays with painfully slow wingers anymore.

Were these numbers warped by Dyche ball? He was on all set pieces and we played a system where we tried to work overloads in wide areas for his crossing and/or find him in central areas for the counter attack.

Obviously he still has to have the quality to execute in those moments, but watching us play I would never have said that he was one of our better or 'more creative' players.

One of those ones where there is a big differential between the stats and the eye test, in my opinion

In almost a month illy will be going to AFCON. Will be disappointed if it’s McNeil on the right in his absence

I think we’ll see Dibling, Alcaraz or even Dewsbury Hall starting there ahead of McNeil.

On another note, how on earth is this competition still every 2 years? Needs moving to every 4.
