Moyes has given Dibley a couple of goes and he hasn’t looked anywhere near the standard

Same with McNeil last night. Because he refuses to make many changes players on the fringes of the first team are always coming in cold and then stink the gaff out.

Didn't Rio Ferdinand on the Overlap say thats what Moyes does. Has a core squad of players and basically ignores the others until they're needed?

Exactly. He played 4 mins v City, 9 mins v West Ham and 4 mins v Liverpool. He has had one decent run out against Palace for 45 minutes when the team as a whole was awful. He should have been given 25/30 minutes against both City and Spurs given the score lines in those games to show what he can do. He is also capable of dribbling from deep through a press as he showed multiple times at Saints last season. Instead McNeil who we know offers absolutely nothing, no pace, no tackling, no ball retention. He was absolutely dire.

I worry that the way Moyes has handled it so far has given the impression to the likes of Dibling and Barry that he doesn't have much faith in them.

So when they do get a chance, there's heightened pressure for them to perform. And when they don't take that - usually no more than 45 minute - chance, they're subbed/ start the next game on the bench.

Apart from anything else, these young players are clearly not full of confidence at the moment. Don't think Moyes is doing anything to help that.

Dibling, Barry, Alcaraz, Aznou...

Each one signed by Moyes, each one being shown no confidence whatsoever.

Total cost? About 85m. At a club that had a huge squad replacement job on its hands over the summer and a pressing need to sign players for the present - not the future.

Now, players can have attitudes or need time to settle. But all four?

This isn't a tenable position for Moyes. His job is to get the best out of these players - but he isn't even attempting to, it seems.

There has GOT to be a disconnect between the manager and our competent professionals. If so, there will be only one loser there.
