I think that is one of Armstrong’s impressive traits , his ability to play a full 90 mins even twice a week , his manager keeping him on knowing he can do so and building his midfield three around him and the experienced Whiteman . At all levels he’s picked up a fair share of Yellows, even got one when he came on in about the 85th minute for our first team once. I’m putting it down to his high desire to make a tackle and a bit of youthful inexperience/ exuberance. It catches the crowds eye , earns him applause but something he needs to be cautious with. This manager must absolutely love him, playing an 18 year old for the full 90 every time even if he's just done that a few days ago or (as today) he picks up a yellow in the first half. Good sign

Regarding Anthony Gordon , having watched Gordon and Armstrong coming through since they were both 16 year olds the biggest similarities I see is in their attitude to get better and develop themselves , Armstrong is even using the same personal trainer as Gordon. Gordon failed to make the same impact at Preston, he was nearly 20 at the time, but for whatever reason I think they failed to use him properly. For me , while people don’t like him, Gordon had the best attitude and desire of any of our young players in recent years and it pleases me seeing similar traits in Armstrong.
You were wrong and you're still wrong.Fetch him back in January I was correct from word go !
