He's the sort of signing you make to send out for a year to Belgium/Holland and then they come back to compete. Our squad was too thin to do this.

The sporting director has only just started his job like a week ago, we also are running a more 'transfer committee' model now and Moyes will have a huge say if not the final say in it, that's how he wanted it. He isn't going to work somewhere where he has no input, that was the issue at West Ham.Then there’s clearly a divide with sporting director on targets - never a good situation if club & coach are not on same page
I don't quite understand what you're saying here? If anyone thought he was going to be ready straight away they're naive, but because he's not ready 7 games in to the season he will be looking to leave and Moyes will be questioning it too? How does that work?Definitely. I said this when he was first signed, he’s a promising young player and provided he is supported and given time to adapt it will be an interesting option. If everyone was thinking he’d be ready from the off in a new league, a bit naive perhaps
Languishing with U21 is not a positive move for the player either as evidenced by the demolition vs Bradford - you can see from the highlights the lack familiarity, understanding or rhythm between players. Whether that is down to Tait or what Everton expect from the U21 is unclear but he needs quality minutes not just 90 minutes
Convinced his camp is trying to find him a loan out as Moyes historically is more about results than development of young players - perhaps Aznou & his agent should’ve researched Moyes more but he may actually be further behind in the pecking order than he was at Bayern much less at Barça. Doesn’t breed confidence and surely player is questioning the move along with Moyes
I’m not defending our recruitment, I think there’s been some shockers. But not every player is going to be a hit. And punts won’t always work out. It’s way too early to call that on Aznou. We need to replace Patterson. But currently Moyes has found a solution and has us in 8th, only 3 points behind Bournemouth with their super duper attacking fullbacks who are “sitting in 4th”.Im quite surprised some want to defend or justify Evertons recruitment in the past 8 years in this position. Digne basically is the last fullback bought who offered anything going forward.
Its been poor. Id like to defend it but i cant. It is what it is.
Moyes doesn't like the recruitment of players going behind himself and his mate McKinlay - and now his son...and previous to him his dad. Then there’s clearly a divide with sporting director on targets - never a good situation if club & coach are not on same page

You are raving about truffert with his 1 assist in 7 league games. Myko has 3 g/a in the league under Moyes. Which works out at 1 in 7.
Gun back in my holster? Bit of an overreaction to some challenging your view point. It’s just a football forum.I havent really raved about truffert. I said they've replaced one left back with another who's slipped into their starting line up with ease. and made a tidy profit on it to. . Actualy replaced most of their back four and keeper and the transition has been pretty seemless as they sit in 4th spot.
Put your gun back in your holster. It’s just a football forum.

I agree with you on the fact of the signing, I don't think he was a Moyes signing, but as far as him being frozen out cos of that is where we disagree.Moyes makes decisions primarily on a political basis: on how much control or lack of control over team affairs playing certain players offers him.
It's clear Aznou wasn't one he wanted, so he'll just freeze him out.
Just one of the many reasons Moyes is a disgrace.

You have been going on about him being a success after 7 games and how good business it is for Bournemouth. Whilst simultaneously whinging about us not having signed a full back that can attack since Digne. Yet as I’ve just said, Truffert has 1 in 7, same as Myko under Moyes. Which suggests that Myko under Moyes is also a success.
Myko has been a decent signing for us and better under Moyes, meaning a first choice wasn’t a priority this summer, so a back up LB that Moyes said wouldn’t be fully ready for a year, was a decent bit of business.
We needed a starting RB even though Moyes had found a solution he was happy with.
Barkley scored 4 goals in 13 games at Sheffield Wednesday before we recalled him. He was only 18 at the time. There was plenty of evidence there was a decent player there. Leeds loan was only a one month loan. You want your fringe players to shine against lesser opposition, be it in the cup or U21s and it's always a bit gutting when they not only don't, but are actively crap.
With that said, players have struggled on loan in the lower leagues and gone on to do well in the PL - I remember Barkley not pulling up trees on a couple of Champo loans (I want to say Preston and Sheff Wed?) before going on to do pretty well for us. And yeah, I also remember 999 other players who did crap on loan and were just crap and left for free.
Point being it *could* easily still go either way for him here, but my feeling is that Moyes isn't the man to steer him in the right direction. If he was to come good here I imagine it looks something like: Jan loan, we mutually consent Davey in the Summer and get someone suitably sexy in to replace him, and Double A gets preseason and gets off to a flyer 26/27 before captaining us to Champions League glory in 2033/34.
Ah, maybe I got his Yorkshire loans mixed up. Appreciate the correction.Barkley scored 4 goals in 13 games at Sheffield Wednesday before we recalled him. He was only 18 at the time. There was plenty of evidence there was a decent player there. Leeds loan was only a one month loan.

Simple really *vomits words*.Simple really
For the player, he was prioritized for the 1st team by two clubs in Bayern & Barça yet wanted 1st team minutes sooner than later. He got that at Valladolid who couldn’t avoid relegation but he played well when given minutes
With Everton, new league & language means adaptation required even if he were a regular 1st team player…more so, without. However, he expressly left big clubs to play.
Now being spoken about as a player not ready for 1st team football with Everton by 1st team coach and the U21 one suggests the club are not in a rush to play a player who came expressly for opportunity to play. Ergo, loan for an ambitious player who will not be happy to go from ‘waiting’ for his chance at Everton when he already was doing that at Bayern & Barcelona
Rightly or wrongly, player likely expected to play and this cannot be playing out like he planned or intended
Hang on - does Aznou being here mean that this ted is back on the forum? Feel like I'm going back in time to when I had more hair and this div was on here every week telling how badly Everton were mis-managing DeulofeuSimple really
