Will try to find it, was only 3-4 ago max. It stuck out to me as it made me think how Beto’s form has been this season compared to last.Interesting didn't catch that at the time. Can you remember which one? What he said exactly?

Was beginning to think I’d imagined it!…..Interesting didn't catch that at the time. Can you remember which one? What he said exactly?
So who would you of gone and got who you can 'plug in and play' for our budget?Everton more than any club i can see were not in the position to buy and bed players in. We dont have a right back fit for purpose. And you could say the same with left back. Thats why kenny tete made sense at the time.
If Everton put every egg in one basket and prioritised fullbacks and 1 decent enough centre forward i think we're more than half decent. As it is we have grealish and ndiaye who have no decent overlapping fullbacks to take players off them so they tend to be smothered. And centre forwards who are offering up virtualy nothing.
It wasnt the time to buy ones for the future. We didnt really have that luxury.

Well Moyes' had the option a few times already this season and passed.Hes shown little glimpses that offensively he has something and that he's comfortable on the ball which is good to see. Just in the matches I watched it was clear his defensive side of things and physicality made me think it'll be a few months before he's first team ready.
Put it this way, if Mykolenko was injured on Monday, I'd be surprised if Moyss plumped for Aznou.
There's a story going round that he's peed off because he thinks he should be starting (was it hinted at that he probably would be when he signed??) and now he wants away - basically going through the motions effortwise@Nymzee isnt wrong mate. He looks like an u18 trying to make the step up to the u21s and not standing out at all as a first team player.
Think he needs a lot of coaching on his defensive side and physicality.
I didn't know what to expect when we signed him, but his pedigree looked excellent and a few in here were really excited by his signing. I was hopeful he'd come in and instantly challenge Mykolenko, but the times I've watched him for the u21s, he's looked miles off it.
I'd take a punt on Rico Henry as left back in january if we can get him.
I'm also not employed by the club to knock up a dossier of fullbacks in world football.
The penny is starting to drop a bit more now as the season goes on that we're so poorly equipped in fullbacks. Kenny tete made sense. We never got him but it was the right lines.
More than happy to give Aznou time to see if he's any good. But he's clearly not right now.
We've not bought a decent fullback in not far off 10 years.
Worth pointing out that our left full back role has changed a lot this seasonI'd take a punt on Rico Henry as left back in january if we can get him.

In previous years we've wanted a left back who could overlap as our left winger tended to drift inside. This season we've completely changed that and inverted our full back on that side so that we give Grealish more space to be 1 on 1 with their defender there. Aznou, by all accounts, has this inverted full back role in his locker albeit he's not 1st team ready.
Rico Henry is your very fast, overlapping left back type (with an injury record to flinch at).
If we sign any left back in January, it needs to be one who can comfortably tuck in, which is why the Ake links made a lot of sense around deadline day.

Moyes had said he wanted "robust" signings.
He then signs Rohl and had the deal lined up for Tete. 2 injury prone players.
If we are going to sign a right back it must be someone that can be relied upon to play consistently - not like Tete.

I think Tete has been injury free so far this season Zat
Tete has started as many games this season as any Everton defender. And around 75 for fulham in the past 3 seasons. Henry has been available to play all season for Brentford. He would be the gamble but thats on the medical team. But if brentford are selecting him in the squad.
Im not an expert on who's available in world football but i cant believe we couldnt have done better in these positions than we have in the past 6 or 7 years. Dyche didnt help granted as his fullbacks never crossed the halfway line. But its still been poor.
