I didnt want Moyes back, absolutely didn’t, but when he came back he made a difference undoubtedly. I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with Grealish, Ndiaye and KDH in the team, but the old flaws in his managerial style that made me unhappy to see his return are resurfacing. He can be incredibly one dimensional, to the extent that you can set your watch on the times he will make his subs (usually at 82 minutes). He will also play a certain way long after every opposition manager has sussed him out.
A good manager develops a style that works and applies it relentlessly. A very good manager recognises when that style is ineffective and has an alternative (less preferred style) that he will apply. Moyes does not have that alternative style, he isn't as dogged as the Russel Martin’s of the world, but when you compare him with the likes of Glasner at Palace they are chalk and cheese.
