I like the idea that we have a choice! We won't be winning either but we should try and finish as high as possible, which I think is about 11th. That way we can hopefully attract slightly better players. It's very much evolution not revolution.

Obviously going for cups would be wonderful. A couple of posters in recent days said they'd be happy to be relegated and win a pot. That my friends is absolute lunacy, but here we are on GOT.com/aggrojigsaws
Well that's ridiculous, and always has been. But we're no longer in the either/or category. We won't be relegated, and a few extra cup games for these guys isn't going to run them into the ground.

People act like winning a cup is as simple as "playing your best starting XI" every game, as if there aren't days you could play a strong side and still lose. That's the nature of a Cup competition.

While we didn't "start our strongest" side Tuesday, it certainly wasn't a weak team either. We just lost.

The team was good enough to win, on paper

I'm as gutted as everyone else to go pit of a cup already. They are and should be a priority in so many ways. However, after what we have all gone through the last 3 seasons how cam we suddenly justify a cup rum rather than a top half/top 8 finish......which I personally believe we are capable of. Was Moyes right to field that team on Tuesday....no but I'd far rather see the progress in the league over the course. Maybe 5/6/7 places above last season and watch some really great attacking Everton than challenge for the Carabo or FA Cup. Progress os progress and we are progressing without a doubt. We are enjoyable to watch again finally and that means so much at this 'school of Science'. To me and my 14 year old boy who is loving 99% of the way we are playing. I hated losing om Tuesday but let's all see the bigger picture.....Huge Progress ok. Enjoy our team.....most of the time guys......they are good. And I have no doubt we will smash WH at the weekend.👍

We are not good enough to win a trophy. If we can’t beat the bottom club what chance of beating the top clubs.

I would just be happy with a bit of consistency and effort.

You could lose any game with any team but I dont think you can argue against the logic that you have more chance of success if you select better footballers.

7 changes is over half the team. That was a very weak line up. If we saw that team in a league match everyone would say its really poor. As soon as I saw the 11 I fully expected a loss.

It's interesting if you talk to other fanbases , recent trophies are always a source of pride connected to banter but look at Leicester they won a FA less than 5 years ago and I don't think a lot of people outside of Leicester fans even acknowledge it , with them being in obscurity due to their poor recent epl form putting them in the Championship. I think a cup can be a joyous development but it's such a gamble other than few notable exceptions the cups usually go to a sky six teams. I think premier league form should be a priority but the caveat is that you have to build reoccurring top half finishes or it's just considered a blip. If you can cement yourself as a perpetual top half team I think it actually improves the chances of winning a cup or reaching the finals

Personally think improving league placing and building is really important. Start getting into Europe and bolstering the squad. If a cup run is on the cards I wouldn't say no.

Winning a cup is hard mind. Four times in 25 years has the FA Cup been won by a team outside the Sky darlings. 5 times for the league cup by my reckoning.

You can't write things off and you only get the chance to win by competing all the way through. But it's not given at all.

This is just another straw man argument, people aren't acting like winning the cup is simple. They are however saying play your strongest team and give it a good go! Was it good enough to win on paper, against Wolves, personally i don't think it was. Our first XI is better than theirs but they're back up's are at least as good as ours.
