Honestly find it weird. How massively does it restrict our list of targets for DMs for example to ensure they have prem experience? How many are there out there that are available and actually good?

The obsession with prem proven is why the Moshiri era was so bad. Usually we already know the ceiling of the players who cost 30 mil and under

Especially when you have a club like Brighton who seem to be proving year after year how they can find defensive midfielders with no prior Prem experience (Bissouma, Caicedo and now Baleba).

We took a more expensive approach of this with Onana but that still payed off for us financially. I think we should do the same again with a DM this window.

Maybe, but the prices change across the window, at the start of the window Man City turned down £25m for McAtee, now he is going to Forest for £20m

Also the headline fee isn't always the key to it, a guaranteed £20m up front may be much more appealing in some cases than a potential £30m spread over a long period and subject to different clauses.

I agree but it does seem to fit with Moyes' preference. He can probably accept a quota of signings like Anzou and Barry.
For that reason I wouldn't be at all surprised if the link to Alvarez bore fruit. It ticks two boxes for Moyes - experience and he has worked with him before.

Potter is clueless. If we could snap him up at a decent fee that would be a great signing. You’d think he’d have no problem working under Moyes either. I wanted him when West Ham first bought him.
