I didn’t see that coming, a few hours after I posted he would never go to Leeds. Well, I was right about that, just not about the calibre of club he would be looking to sign for. Quite a statement signing for them and means they have decent midfield. I guess splashing all the Bellingham cash on a direct replacement.

Gutted. Really good player.

For me, Sunderland actually have a lot of decent players. Be interesting to see how they plug the fairly significant gaps they still have. Shame for them they had to lose Bellingham.

All 3 will probably go down again, but they probably have the best chance of staying up I reckon.

Also.. does £65million seem a bit cheap given Chelsea sold their women’s team for £200m? … surely the Everton ladies also have Goodison park to include?

Happy to be proven wrong but I would be amazed if fair market value for Goodison is anywhere near £50m. Hemmed in by loads of residential property with very little opportunity to develop around it. Then you factor in the cost of demolishing it and then redeveloping. It’s not that close to the centre of town and transport links are poor.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s worth £10m or less. Obviously we can be creative with the accounting but not sure we can make up that difference.

£65m might be a sensible number for the women’s team and Goodison but £50m of that is not coming from Goodison alone.

Mate you can’t buy any prem rated grounds for 50m

Having said that … it’s is cursed so I wouldn’t pay a pound for it if it was me .

Well I've watched him a lot and I think he's really good. That's about all I can say.

Quite clear that Seamus was kept on to help bed in the many new players that will be arriving this summer. Good move imo and positive to hear that lots of players expected!
