Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

This is what the Joyce article actually says about DCL and Keane: "Jack Harrison, Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom and Armando Broja have returned to their parent clubs after loan spells, while the forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin and centre back Michael Keane are also set to leave."

It's not new information, he's just repeating what we already know, that their contracts expire in a few weeks.

I would argue we could blood some young players in pre-season in preparation for a number of appearances next season.

Coleman was dropped in Benfica playing left back in his first game, 5-0 later, he learnt from his experience and played a number of appearances then off on loan until the end of the season.

You need luck and a lot of hard work, young players give a confidence so squads can use their fearless and energy.

Armstrong and Dixon have a great shout at spots within the squad which lack numbers so a good pre-season could catapult their Everton futures.
And you know they are ready for PL how?

I don't get this Dixon thing. The minutes he has had he looked absolutely lost and as far as I know he has hardly set the youth league on fire either. Armstrong is way better but I still think it's more likely he will go to another loan, depending who we buy this summer.

In general youth teams would struggle against League One teams, that's the level we are talking about here for most players.

I’d prefer Woltemade myself , but if he leaves it will be to bigger fish than ourselves.
Barry has too many echoes of Sandro for me , I was badly burned by my support for that purchase.

Think theres massive difference between sandro and barry personally.

Barry has scored goals at every level hes played at. Hes big, fast and has a real eye for goal.

Sandro on the other hand had a a one off season and a release clause that was stupidly low and we had owners stupid enough to pay him crazy wages.

Dont think any of that happens under moyes.

I've watched Woltemade a few times now (including once live) and as much as I think he looks exceptionally talented, I have real doubts about how he'd translate to a focal point striker here. He doesn't even really play as a number 9 (or rather he has his worst performances when he does), he's much better given licence to drop off th front, turn and run at defenders. All well and good, but he's frustratingly poor in the air for someone of his size and I suspect he'd frustrate at least as much as he excited. Certainly a player to watch, but not at all convinced he'd work as a striker here.

Barry I know almost nothing about but, at the risk of being labelled negative, I'll say that his YouTube highlights are giving me slight Beto vibes

His touch looks a lot better than Beto's.
