Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Lukaku, including his loan spent four seasons at Everton, that's a sizeable amount, criminal we didn't win at least a cup with that team.
We would have a had a great chance if Lukaku had have turned up against United. Palace in the final we'd have beaten.

Also, Baines OG in the SF 2nd leg at the Etihad handed City a lifeline they shouldn't have had. Ok, it was Liverpool in the final but it was a much more adventurous Everton team than under Moyes and wed'd have had a 40% chance of winning the LC that season IMO.

Would have had a better chance if Martinez bothered with a defence, or even about defending corners. We bought some terrible defenders during his reign. As soon as the Moyes defence began creaking that was it.

We had Baines and Coleman in their pomp at FB and Stones and Jagielka at CB with Barry and McCarthy patrolling in front of them.

The reason the defence went on the slide was because of McCarthy's injury. That really left the defence who were tasked to play out from the back vulnerable.
