Might just be taking the chance to have a look at someone else in goal for a friendly. Everyone has seen how good Pickford can be so it`s not a bad choice by a manager to see what options he has in that position if Pickford came down with Seamus syndrome and started missing most of the season. You don`t want to get to a game that really matters in two year time to find that Pickford is injured and now you have to throw a new keeper into the starting XI.
