I would have expected the players we wanted to retain have their contract sorted out by latest the following week at season end. We have psr room for another one signing at least, and this is the best time to take advantage of clubs that need to sell before July 1st....

And to think we could have got Gyokeres. Lots said he wasn’t good enough though.

I still do think hes not good enough nunez looked like a world beater in Portugal and gyokeres moves like a slug in salt.

We did not have to wait the end of the season to renew contracts...we are safe since the end of April...it is now nearly the middle of June and we are about the let our best player this last season walk for free...

Do you mean Gana who is under contract until June 30th and currently out of country on International duty?

So unless you want to show me proof that happened then thelwell signed maupay, end of.

I think it was fairly well known that Guirassy was the recommendation but PL experience was the preferred factor in the recruitment of a striker. However, I don't think it's ever been said clearly if this insistence was on the part of Lampard, Kenwright, Moshiri , someone else . . .

I agree on the PL experience but demanding the players we bring in adhere to certain parameters is a hell of alot different then going above the DoF head and bringing in a player like maupay.

I just genuinely dont think that happened.

We all have opinions lad I've no problem with yours, believe what you want to believe.

Hmm. Debatable stuff in there. Hasn’t got the allowed loan quotas right and Branthwaite hasn’t 'fallen down the England pecking order' so much as has never really been given a go and has been injured

I don’t expect most of our signings to happen until mid window, when teams have replaced players and are letting others go. There’s a reason the top teams can go out anytime and splash the money for big players, the only way we do that early is with championship or lesser foreign players.
