Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

As of today, we only have 13 first team players under contract, probably the only club in world football right now with such a small squad. It is imperative to see action in the next few days if we want to give moyes the tools he needs in pre season to be successful. I can see us going into pre season with a squad full of u21s to make up the numbers which for me is unacceptable. Not only it affects the u21s development but it is not helping moyes to build his system with players coming in throughout July and august. So far, not so great from Angus and company...

GK: Pickford, Tyrer
DF: Patterson, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko
MF: Armstrong, Iroegbunam, Garner, Gana
AM: Ndiaye, McNeil, Alcaraz
CF: Beto, Chermiti

16 players?

See that Toloveri fella is saying we would consider selling Beto to Leeds for £25m. Hope not. We have a lad who has shown he can score goals in the Prem. They are hard to come by and cost big bucks. We need to sign another to compete with him, not start weakening ourselves further.

I dont think we will or could afford to sell.

However, as always it depends on the replacement(s).

I'd definitely keep Beto, but if we sell that's at least two really good forwards we need to buy.

The window has been open a week.

Are we at the "setting arbitrary deadlines with massively inflated sense of importance attached to them" stage of the window already?! Time flies...

The smallest squad…..in the world.

as it stands our strongest starting XI and bench is: -

---------------------Pickford-----------------------

O'Brien--------Tarkowski------Branthwaite----Mykolenko

------------------Gueye*------Garner--------------------

McNeil------------------Alcaraz-------------------N'diaye

--------------------------Beto------------------------------

Bench: Tyrer*, Patterson, Coleman*, Keane*, Iroegbunam, Harrison-Armstrong*, Chermiti*

*this is on the understanding that Gueye and Coleman accept their new contracts and Keane agrees to stay on reduced terms and that Coleman's contract includes a player role and that Tyrer, Chermiti and Harrison-Armstrong are not loaned out next season

The problem there is that Moyes pretty much always makes 2 subs around the hour mark and the 1-2 more before the game is over . By then our XI on the pitch will be:

---------------------Pickford-----------------------

Patterson--------Keane------Branthwaite----Mykolenko

------------------Gueye*------Armstrong--------------------

McNeil------------------Iroegbunam------------------N'diaye

--------------------------Chermiti------------------------------

I won’t labour the point, but I hate the way our recovery is said to be so far away that it’s going to take 500 billion pound to resolve and won’t occur for at least another five years. Meanwhile, Villa and Forest have somehow managed to eclipse the mighty midtable Brighton and secure European football in less than 12 months, with it being Champions League qualification in Villa’s case.

I think KWP is a bit crap tbh. The only reason people are harping on about him is because he’s free and has a double-barrelled surname. I think and hope that we will be looking for much better than KWP.
😂😂😂

Nobody is happy with him because he has a double barrelled surname. They're happy that we might get a relatively decent cheap solution to our RB position.
