Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It's total nonsense. We can spend 200+ million if we wanted too
Yeah. Suggesting we potentially have as low as £50m to spend when we have just spent £12m on Alcaraz and we’re bidding £30m for Delap doesn’t really work when we need 8-10 players in to actually have a squad.

It’s sensationalism to get clicks and reaction from fan bases. As every one jumps on it arguing it’s not enough and then people start having a go at the owners etc

That plus a couple of loans will be needed. I think we'll get about 6 in, can't really see us getting anymore than that and don't think they will be able to dilute the budget any further either.

It's really about each of the new signings making a sufficient and early impact rather than what they cost or how many of them there are.

Aside from loans we also have to have the signings done by kickoff and be ready in every way for the season to start.

The phrase ‘jack of all trades master of none’ springs to mind

Moyes loves a utility man though

….we had a connection with Rangers first team, so watched him a fair bit. Never considered him a stand-out but I suppose you don’t with that type of player in that league but he’s got a very good engine and tidy enough in possession.

I doubt Rangers paid much for him but he’s still got 3 seasons on his contract & now got himself into a decent national team, I just wonder what his price tag is.

Water is wet
Sky are barely credible these days. Gone are the yellow bar breaking news stories of pre social media. Nowadays they scramble round for scraps. Wouldn't be surprised if some of their rumours are ripped straight out of here or equivalent, well some of the more credible ones. Note they've never linked us with Cherki etc. O'Riley one out the blue but is there actually anything in it ?? As for the positions we need to fill. Like you say , hardly rigorous journalism stating we need to fill positions of players we released.

My concern is that if he’s not pulling up trees in that league he’ll certainly struggle in the prem

Even id get on the bench in that league

….its a difficult one, I’d be more impressed he’s got himself into the Ivory Coast squad. Footballers often pass through the lower profile leagues, he went from Ivory Coast Academy to Denmark to Rangers so he might be progressive at 23yo.
