Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I’ll be honest I’m not completely sold on McAtee. Too reliant on Pep’s ‘system’ and players around him creating chances. We need a game breaker and I’m far from convinced it’s him.
A very interesting point. He undoubtedly fits Peps system.

He doesn't appear to have pace . Can he beat a man ? I'm not sure.

He has scored goals but weren't they mostly v Salford in the cup?

I’m not averse to us going with Beto and taking a chance on someone like Ferguson on loan
I am... If we don't come out of this window with a better option than Beto then it's neglect, our defense is top 4 standard, our Midfield needs some work but our strikers are woeful, they miss so many 1 on 1's they spend a lot of time offside, don't score enough and have good stretches, score a few goals but then go on an often longer stretch without scoring, these are quite obviously our biggest issues we need to add goals simple as that, Beto is not the answer.

Surely there’s an upcoming Tevez or (dare I say it) a Suarez type centre forward out there in Europe who we could pick up for €25-30M. A real livewire who wants a chance in the premier league.
There must be loads in France, Belgium and Holland and a few speedy R/W who can score a few goals as well.

Honestly, lads, what has Ferguson done in his 3 starts last season to keep him in your minds? I think he's a lost cause. Brighton want rid, West Ham don't want back. It's all for a reason...
And WHAM’s manager was the one who brought him through as a youngster at Brighton……very telling if they don’t want the loan to be made permanent.

Completely agree. I can just about accept Beto as an impact sub but that's it.

Priority signings in order

CF
RW
CM / RB.

All need to be starters if we are going to challenge for the top 8.

And we need a host of squad players too. And all that assumes that Charly and Gana sign.

The Ferguson situation is strange. Certainly all the attributes are there to be a top striker, more than Delap in my opinion, but something seems seriously wrong with his career at the moment.

I expect that DM would still have enough contacts at West Ham to find out what happened during his loan spell there.
There certainly would not be a big fee at this stage and DM has rehabilitated players in the past who have lost track of their careers, but it still would a big risk based on the last couple of seasons.

Hard to believe he is still only 20.
There certainly would. Heavily reported that they valued him over £40m in January.

Even if that has dropped a little, they will still want north of £20/25m.

We need a first choice striker. Not another backup for a big outlay.

Any deal for him would need to be a lower upfront fee and higher clauses. 10-15 up front and 20-25 if he reaches certain milestones, I wouldn't like to see us spunk out 30M+ on him straight up.
