Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

The only players from Man City I could realistically see us going in for are

Kyle Walker - last year of his contract, not wanted at city, not wanted at Milan, so a loan deal with them meeting a proportion of his wages isn’t unrealistic. We would get a RB we badly need, though I appreciate some think he’s over the hill, but compared to what we’ve had last few seasons he’s a young buck.

Mcatee - clearly not going to break into city’s team permanently, so probably the type of signing we should be looking at. Loads of potential, sell on value if he progresses.

He's completely finished.

I see the Irish lads on here are going all in on Ferguson. 6 goals in two seasons and a reputation for an, erm, recreational social life. Brighton don't usually sell their young lads cheap either. At least he isn't interested in fashion, eh lads?
The Ferguson situation is strange. Certainly all the attributes are there to be a top striker, more than Delap in my opinion, but something seems seriously wrong with his career at the moment.

I expect that DM would still have enough contacts at West Ham to find out what happened during his loan spell there.
There certainly would not be a big fee at this stage and DM has rehabilitated players in the past who have lost track of their careers, but it still would a big risk based on the last couple of seasons.

Hard to believe he is still only 20.

Assuming Tarks might miss the first week or two getting back up to fitness, and we have to sell Branthwaite to fund the incomings.

What a time to be alive..
I'm ALL IN on this one.

Brilliant starting line up in line with our wonderful new stadium.

What if Beto is our main striker and Ferguson takes Chermitis place in the squad?
Support this, but only as a loan with favourable option and payment scheme linked to games/availability.
If he really does have "lifestyle issues" then he's not too old to recover fully, but it will need work.
Hire Big Dunc as striker Coach. Get Seamus to help get the lad's head right, buddy him with Big Jake are options.
Everton has a setup that can rehab this kid, and if we do so we'll have a terrific player in a years time.
If not, what did we lose really?
This is premised on him being 3rd striker behind Beto and DCL/other

Honestly, lads, what has Ferguson done in his 3 starts last season to keep him in your minds? I think he's a lost cause. Brighton want rid, West Ham don't want back. It's all for a reason...
Some people believe in redemption, others don't... Who's to say who's right..
If the root cause of his problems is recurrent ankle injuries, as some have said, then that's a different situation. But if it's mental/social then I don't believe in writing off 20 year olds as lost causes, and to me it's a gamble worth taking.
It could start with a 6 month loan and sticking him in the u21s to start with.

Careful mate, I suggested he might have problems with professionalism in January and you'd have thought i'd just insulted half the mothers on GOT the way some people lost their minds at me.

The dodgy sites are still linking us to Jarell Quansah from the RS.

Obviously he played with Branthwaite at England u21 level and they looked solid.

Could be an interesting one if O'Brien is going to be used at RB as Quansah can play RCB and RB.

If he wasnt at the RS then it seems fairly logical but i dont think Moyes will be spending on a RS CB this summer.

Links seem bizarre.
