Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I would welcome the return of both Lindstrom and Mangala but only on loan. We have so many openings in the squad filling them with low risk players that we know, is a much better option than gambling on 11 signings that we don't know if they will succeed or not. If you were in Moist's shoes and you only have 12 first teamers going into the season I think you would be looking for 2 things:
1) Stability - known entities that you know will get the job done - the 2 who played before injury last year must be high on his list.
2) Spice - something to get the fans up off those HD - BMD seats! That may be in the shape some classic Moist left field signings or McAtee/Delap type.

He does not need another back up striker as he has Beto and Chermiti at his disposal. Personally I think the signs point to Moyes being done with DCL.
Spice & Lindstrom…more likely to see a better performance on the winger from posh spice

linked to Danish 21 year old RB at Galatasary, Elias Jelert for around £6.7m. Story that Galatasary may prefer a loan

Just a bit of musing from me, feel free to ignore

Looking at his signings during his last spell at West Ham. Similar to his time with us, Moyes seems to go for players who are ready to step straight into the team rather than bringing in and developing youth players outright.
That's why it feels like Alcaraz wouldn't have been a Moyes type of signing (on the original loan) though maybe he's shown enough in his loan spell.

Soucek does fit that mold of an experienced Premier League player who could drop into the defensive mid role and add that experience there. Not saying I think it's the right singing or not, but I think that's the line of thinking.

Looking at his previous transfer activity, I'd expect we're looking at players over the age of 22 who can drop straight into the team, likely with experience of this league (Shocking, I know! )

That's kind of the contradiction with Moyes really, he looks long term in lots of ways, but in terms of the team he puts people in when he feels they won't let him down. He's definitely not one just to give someone experience.

Like O'Brien he put in, but not because you think he's developing him (although he will develop) but because he is 6ft 6 and fast and can do a job for him.

It's kind of why I still think he might try to keep DCL.

Very talented and incredibly highly rated at one point.

Can't get my head around people wanting the likes of Mangala and Lindstrom back at all. There's a whole world of footballers out there, why are we obsessed with always going back for the same ones we've had before?

The Mangala one surprises me a little. He was fine, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was on steady wages and he is injured until December.

He plugged a gap and scored a couple of important goals, but I hope we are trying to get a bit better moving forwards.

He played like twice for spurs this season and not joking , was directly at fault for conceding around 3 or 4 goals in those games

feel like he’d be decent at warming pickford up and having the craic with him which is essentially what a 3rd choice keeper does
