Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Wolves will not win tonight. So unlikely that we will be in a position to move anywhere come Sunday!

But still, if we have the opportunity then anyone who is leaving I would not want to see in the squad with the exception of Gana as he is likely needed! Oh and Keane due to injuries! Finally maybe one of the keepers to replace Pickford when one of the horse punchers 2 foots him!

But the likes of Young, DCL, Doucoure can all stay at home and find new pastures.
Palace will have their flip flops on tonight mert.

Re: Dixon - Could we make a winger out of him?

His pace is some weapon.

And we have a team that is absolutely crying out for pace
It's a thought though its usually a winger being converted to full back not the other way round. I think Dixon ultimately is a wing back in a 3 at the back system, not good enough defensively in a 4 and not good enough offensively to play as a wide man

From the five or six times I have seen him play (a small sample I’ll grant you) he doesn't seem to have the footballing intelligence to make it in the prem. he absolutely will not make it as a full back, but even bombing forwards, he seems a ‘heads down’ type of player, a Tony Daley type for those old enough to remember him for Villa.

Then we should release them.

….don’t think you can ‘release’ under contract players. Reece is in the very fortunate position of getting a 4 year deal in 2022, he was with a Belgium 2nd division club last season but struggled for game time.

Couple of U18s CBs could leapfrog him next season, I like Billy Tamen.

Remember Tony Daley well, if Dixon had a career like him we'd be happy with that (England caps etc)

Would also like to think was playing time aswell for his best trait as a 10 to be his defensive work how much ground covers. Says about what the club is aiming for, i would have kept him as a squad player on sensible money, but has decided to walk away. Has frustrated me alot this season but will never forget what he has done here at the club. Is not a club legend but is a player i would welcome and always hope gets a positive reaction if comes back to the club after playing. Massive goals in this dark period at the club
I take this to mean that the club offered much reduced wages. It wouldn’t have been a case of the club being desperate to keep him and him walking away.

Moyes regularly started Coleman as a winger in his breakthrough season.

Agree it is far from common

Just read it.

Probably a fraction of what he was on.
Well we know it was a reduction because they could have taken the option to extend on the same terms and didn't. I doubt it was an enormous reduction we offered to be honest though, the club will have an idea of what he would find acceptable and won't waste their time negotiating something they know he won't agree to, and his respectful comments today suggest he didn't feel the club tried to take the pee out of him with the offer. I think his interview the other day about salary was just him effectively saying 'someone else is going to pay me decent money, don't tell me I need to lower my demands because I know what's on the table elsewhere'.

I'm not sure we do have to play our best team. Newcastle's season is none of my concern, yes I'd rather they didn't qualify for the Champions League but if they don't it'll likely be Forest or Chelsea in their place which is no better, really. With a few of our under age players they are getting to an age where they either need to be around the first team squad or let go. The weekend is a good opportunity to see which is best.
No, we want 3 points.

It might not get us anything or anywhere in the table, but we want 3 points

After the season we've had, it would be great to finish on 48 points. I don't care who needs what for the champions league or whatnot, I want an Everton win
