Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We replaced Lonergan, we will replace Begovic. He might have other plans, he might have chose to leave rather than us just not offering a contract.

It's also not like Pickford isn't experienced himself at this point. He's got 10 years of top flight experience and 7 years as England's #1.

I think you need experience behind him. Not Begovic, who was a glorified caddie. A true no 2 with some games under his belt.

Impervious to injuries ?

Lewis Ferguson lifted a trophy for Bologna last night

Got Everton (and Moyes) written all over him, sign him up
Good to know that, if we did sign him, no members of this forum will fill despise him just because of what he did in his academy days

Not bothered about Young. He’s on very little. He can cover a number of positions. He was playing great early this season too - 3 assists, 1 goal isn’t to be sniffed at. You can’t get a whole new squad in one window, so keeping a few old heads around makes sense in the interim. He hasn’t started under Moyes, so not sure why people are panicking like he’s now going to be first name on the team sheet.

Exactly my take on it. Think getting rid of every experienced head in a time of serious transition would be foolish too. He'll barely play but he'll hopefully act as third choice right/left back in case of emergency. I might cry if I see him on the wing next season mind. Also fair to point out he was one of our best players earlier on this season, and I thought he was largely crap last year.

Bit mad getting rid of both backup keepers, just unnecessarily making more work for ourselves in an already incredibly busy summer.

Got to think Moyes already has Fabianski on his radar as backup for a year, whilst bumping Tyrer or another young keeper up to third choice.
